With English punctuality and under a sun that normally hides the belly of a donkey from Puerto de la Cruz, Phe Festival. At five o'clock in the afternoon I went on stage Pat Llombet, santacrucera selected in the latest edition of LALACore to perform at the Porto festival, which successfully performed its first performance at an event of these characteristics.

Pat, despite having just turned 27, is one of those young women who makes us regain faith in humanity. Intelligent, his good taste and the quality of his compositions got the public on their feet, and despite the prevailing heat, they did not hesitate to chant his songs. Without a doubt, it is the great white hope of the Tenerife pop scene.

In a brief conversation after her performance, Pat would confess to not knowing if she was more nervous about making her debut with a band at a festival or being the predecessor of jack bison, of whom he confesses to be a fan. And it is not for less, because the duo managed to appease the heat that those who had already accessed the venue passed at those hours. Funny, talented and, above all, dedicated to the public that was already beginning to fill the stalls, they were the perfect appetizer for the elegant and dedicated pop of Women, who, slightly toasted by the sun, enlivened an ideal sunset on the esplanade of the Puerto de la Cruz pier. And we continue to toast to music. Full stalls, a certain melancholy for past times watching the public scrupulously fulfilling what they have to do: each one in his chair and face covered, but enjoying himself.

And with the sunset came the main dish of the night. Zahara and his band, unattainable to discouragement, with a devoted public pushing the stern and with an exquisite, fun, festival-oriented, modern sound. We are running out of adjectives.

The black night gave way to Bizarre Love Triangle, some old acquaintances of Phe and festival experts, perfectly aware of what needs to be done to reconcile the live audience with a normality that, perhaps, is too new for all of us, but to which we will have no choice but to get used to it.

Martí Perarnau IV, alias A lot, closed a first day that in view of the results did not disappoint anyone. Electric, fantastic, vibrant, it almost put the final point of the night, the final bell of a night that does not end here, but leaves the doors open for the real weekend whip, tomorrow, at the same time on the esplanade of the dock of Cross port.

The sixth edition of Phe Festival brings together in Puerto de la Cruz an outstanding poster of national, international and local artists in the two days of concerts that will take place on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 at its usual venue, the esplanade of the pier, where attendees will find a complete sound experience to enjoy with all the security guarantees. 

The details of the program were announced today, during a visit to the stable cultural venue, which was attended by the mayor and head of Culture of the municipality, Marco González, the general director of Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, Rubén Pérez Castellano, the general director of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands, Laura Fuentes Vega, the insular director of Culture of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Alejandro Krawietz, as well as Iván T. Hall and Carlos Ulises Salazar, directors of Phe Festival. Representatives of collaborating entities and sponsors such as Aqualia and Red Bull will also attend.

Ana Tijoux, Zahara, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, Rigoberta Bandini, Rufus T. Firefly, Mucho, Biznaga, Mujeres, _juno, Jack Bisonte, Mel Ömana and Pat Llombet –with We Are Trash and The Groove Brothers as resident DJ– make up the selection of groups and bands that will turn Phe 2021 into a summer festival, with the values and commitments acquired since the first edition with the public and with Puerto de la Cruz. In this sense, in addition to the conferences Phe Festival develops this weekend an intense program of parallel activities with Phe Gallery, Phe yoga and Aqualia Phe Sports.

Ticket sales have stopped, since the festival has covered the capacity allowed by current regulations, although it will offer streaming for those who cannot attend to share the experience. Presented by Gerardo Cartón and Helena González, there will be some direct broadcasts and interviews with artists and participants.

This is the second edition Phe Festival celebrates by adapting its organization and structure to the new context. All activities will be carried out with an exhaustive security protocol for the public, artists and the entire team involved in the organization. Thus, all the spaces will have continuous disinfection and hydroalcoholic gel dispensers, the capacity and seating arrangement will comply with the safety distances, it will be limited and controlled in the different spaces. 

The stable concert venue will be divided into two areas: one with a stall of chairs in front of the stage, where the public will remain seated, keeping a safe distance and wearing a mask, and where it will not be possible to eat or drink; and another restaurant annex, as a summer terrace, where you can access the gastronomic offer, and a small selection of brands. The cashless bracelet will once again be the system chosen by the festival both for access and to make payments more convenient for the attending public.

Popular Argentine sandwiches, El Saucito, Kiko Ratón, Mónica's dream, The Dog is Hot and Alicia's crepería make up the culinary selection of Phe Food, while in the Phe Market section this year they will be present, Atorie Tenerife, Chorlito, Sanchesky, The Collective Way, Confia, Coño and Quivers, as well as the Phe Shop with festival merchandising and some artists.

On each day of concerts, the doors of the venue open at 4:30 p.m. and the concerts will begin at 5:00 p.m. The entrance and exit of the different spaces will be staggered to avoid crowds.
