The Phe Market trends fair completes the Phe Festival program with more than 65 brands

Music, fashion, cinema, gastronomy and innovation are the pillars on which this experience is based, which will be held in Puerto de la Cruz from August 8 to 12

The second edition of Phe Festival, which takes place from August 8 to 12, consolidates Cross port as a benchmark of cultural offer in the Canary Islands with an inspired cocktail that combines music, cinema, trends, gastronomy and innovation for all audiences. Among the novelties that it adds to its programming, the trends fair stands out Phe Market, which will house the proposals of 65 brands, 25 of them from the Emprende Moda island program, in addition to one restaurant area, children's area, workshops and current proposals. A whole display of fashion, art, culture, design and new technologies.

Today it was officially presented to the media with the presence of Sandra Rodríguez, Councilor for Finance and Culture of Puerto de la Cruz; Efraín Medina, Vice President of the Cabildo de Tenerife, José Luis Rivero, Insular Director of Culture of the Cabildo de Tenerife; Sergio Eiroa, general director of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands; and Carlos Ulises Salazar, artistic director of the Festival.

In her speech, Sandra Rodríguez stated that “Phe Festival fits perfectly into our strategy of promoting tourism with something more than the offer of sun and beach; we want to recover our cultural identity and that quotes like this become a hallmark of identity”. José Luis Rivero expressed himself in a similar way, who also added that “Puerto de la Cruz is a unique model in the Canary Islands of how culture is related to its territory and its people”.

Meanwhile, Efraín Medina and Sergio Eiroa agreed in their analyzes that their respective institutions support and fly exhibitions such as the Phe Festival in which new trends, commitment to change and innovation are fundamental pillars.

After the success of its first edition, Phe Festival returns with a broader and more complete offer. Five days with numerous options for all audiences that are encompassed under these six legends: Phe Music, Phe Market, Phe Films, Phe I+C, Phe Arounds and Phe Sports.

Categories that constitute the pillars of a festival that revolves around the idea of a perfect vacation plan, in a privileged location and star of tourism in the Islands such as Puerto de la Cruz.

This second edition broadens its commitment to music with two days, Friday 11 and  Saturday August 12, in a renclosure located on the esplanade of the pier. Outdoor trend fair

Phe Festival's commitment to the cultural offer in the north of Tenerife is extended and encompasses much more than music. In addition to integrating diverse artists and musical genres in the same space, it is adorned with Phe Market, which can be enjoyed throughout the festival, for free on Thursday, August 10, and integrated into the concert venue on Friday 11 and Saturday 12. An area where the latest trends in design, fashion and art will meet, with a total of 65 brands, and the outstanding presence of the program Undertake Fashion of the Cabildo de Tenerife, which participates with 25 signatures.

An interesting and varied gastronomic selection will stop at the festival site to offer culinary creations full of imagination and quality. La Dulzoneta, Café Caramba, Raíces Food Truck, as well as a specific seafood stand courtesy of Pescadería Marisquería Puerto, Canary Wine, Dolcezza Helados Artesanales, Food Truck Frida, Creperie Le Monde, Con limon y sal Food Truck, Phe Food Stand and La sweets make up the careful selection of cuisine and drinks for all tastes in the restaurant area.

Phe Market also incorporates picnic area and rest islands to enjoy the festival. Also a children's area, where they have been organized  cooking, makeup, recycling and sustainability workshops. In the enclosure there will also be installed a skateboard ramp of free use where contests and challenges have been organized at different times for skaters of all ages.

Bet on culture

Phe 2017 opens on August 8 and 9 with a meeting open to reflection and knowledge with conferences that, under the name Ph I+C, will lead to Castle Cultural Space conferences, workshops and different activities to analyze and discuss culture, tourism and innovation in a relaxed key, as well as in 'shorts and cholas'.

In their inaugural activity they will have the interventions of Pau Llacuna i Ortiz, former director of Fira Tárrega, international performing arts market, and Veronica Werckmeister of IMVG (Vitoria Gasteiz Mural Route) to talk about Cultural projects that transform the environment. The practical side of the meeting will be on Wednesday 9 with workshops on Innovative insights that transform people: mapping, robotics, fab lab, digital music, social urban planning... which end with a series of short talks under the title Phe Kucha.

The most creative aspect of the festival is oriented towards cinema and audiovisual production. Phe Films is a call with digital DNA aimed at teams interested in spending a few days of intensive filming for the creation of a piece in Puerto de la Cruz during the second week of August, coinciding with the dates of Phe Festival. The winner will receive a prize of 600 euros. The work most voted by the public through the web will be awarded 300 euros. The participants also opt for a national and international distribution campaign that will be carried out in collaboration with the distribution company Digital 104.

The subscription for the two days of concerts (40 euros), as well as individual tickets for each of the days (22 euros), can be purchased at the online store on the official website www.phefestival.com, as well as at Ticketea. com and Tickety.es. Students can purchase passes at the price of 30 euros. From Monday the 7th, a box office will be installed on the esplanade of the wharf where you can buy tickets and advance tickets at this price. The festival also has more than 30 physical points of sale distributed in the north, south and metropolitan area of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and La Gomera.

In addition, given the forecasts of tourist occupation in the city and with the intention of diversifying the accommodation options, this year's edition incorporates the possibility of camping, which will be installed in the Manolo Santaella Sports Center and will open its stalls from the 9th to the 13th of August and whose places, at the price of €5 per person and night, can be reserved in the festival's online store.

This new edition has been promoted by the Department of Culture of the Puerto de la Cruz City Council, with the support of Turismo de Tenerife and the Urban Rehabilitation Consortium, the Insular Department of Employment, Commerce, Industry and Socioeconomic Development, the Directorate Island of Culture, Education and Artistic Units, the General Directorate of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands and the CajaCanarias Foundation. Phe Festival is framed within the Cultural Strategy of Puerto de la Cruz 2020, which also includes projects of the stature of festivals such as Periplo, Mueca, Ágatha Christie Festival, Puerto Street Art, Bach Festival, Early and Baroque Music Festival or Jazz Festival from the Canary Islands

Introducing Phe Food: enjoy food too

We are aware that, as many people say, "music does not feed you". That is why we have thought of you: an inveterate music lover, but also a person with basic needs.

Because we are aware that two days of intensive concerts at a festival can go by very quickly, you may also overlook your desire to eat. Music can more than anything, but let us make it easy for you so that your experience is ten. So don't worry, you will have various options to choose from in the gastro area of Phe Market, inside the enclosure from Phe Festival, on the esplanade of the wharf Cross port

And how could it be otherwise, because it's about doing something different and taking good memories with you, our culinary offer is broader and more original this year. The concept of street food opens, covering many options and with a greater offer of food trucks made in Tenerife. And since the experience will be ten, ten will be the gastronomic offers that will accompany you throughout the entire festival. So that you can choose what you most want or so that you go and try something different in each one of them. The good thing about this selection is that they will all be at street level. Easy, fast and (we hope) affordable for all budgets.

1. Sweetie

The best option for those with a sweet tooth is without a doubt the sweetie. The world of candy 100% available for you: brownies chocolate and walnuts and dates and walnuts, cakes and as a salty option, sandwich Focaccia with different items to choose from.

2. Coffee Gosh

The most popular option always at festivals and concerts: quick and easy, don't miss the sandwiches and hamburgers coffee wow.

3. Seafood stand

Perhaps the most risky option of our previous edition, but also one of the biggest surprises. Because we must not forget that Puerto de la Cruz is a city with a seafaring tradition, we bring you the sea thanks to the kindness of Fishmonger Seafood Port. In its menu you will find red tuna skewers, gratin scallops, scallops, razor shells or grouper ceviche.

4. Canary Wine

If previously we offered you the sea, let us bring you the land, and its liquid gold with wine. A wine, moreover, whose supply is provided by canarywine. Because it couldn't be any other way, Canarian wines take control: fruity, dry, red, rosé... A wide variety to choose from!

5. Dolcezza – Artisanal ice cream

Another of the sweet options, although in this case, cooler. Because we all fancy an ice cream in summer, the option of Dolcezza it will be perfect.

6. Food Truck Frida

A food truck that opens this year with us and that, in addition to a very identifying decoration, also has a culinary offer that you will not be able to forget: homemade empanadas of different types, beef and chicken meatballs with different sauces, Creole sausage, Ciabatta toasts with a bed of creole sauce, grilled beef and avocado sauce…

7. Roots Food Truck

Also a good choice to recharge your batteries and continue dancing. On Roots Food Truck You can find the classic hamburger menu, but taken to another level: black pig burgers, grilled free-range chicken, pork leg sandwich, hot dog with original ponische sausage and caramelized onions. How hungry!

8.Creperie Le Monde

A new proposal that can also be great to kill hunger. A wide range of savory and sweet crepes, with artisan dough, fresh, organic and top quality products.

9. With lemon and salt Food truck

Mexico also has its place in Puerto de la Cruz. Make your taste buds dance with the explosive choice of With lemon and salt. Totopos with guacamole sauce and cheese for snacks and several options of burritos to not get bored.

We want your experience to be unique and complete. We want you not to stay with the desire to enjoy it, so  get a Phe Festival ticket. We want to get to sold out!

Phe, a festival designed for everyone

We love music, we love art and creativity, we love the moments we make in phe festival, surrounded by a lot of talent, very good people, a lot of good vibes and, above all, social and human conscience.

We believe in an inclusive culture and in the importance that everyone has the same possibilities and opportunities. That is why we have designed and prepared our venue so that everyone, whatever their condition and age, can enjoy and experience the festival in the best possible way.

Thus, the venue where the Phe 2018 concerts will be held has perfectly prepared entrances for people with hearing, visual or mobility problems. We want an accessible experience for everyone that knows no barriers.

[rl_gallery id=”3931″]

In addition, all people with functional diversity will have an area specially arranged so that they can follow the live broadcasts of Dorian, The Well Beloved, Nathy Peluso, Carlos Sadness, The Killer Swing and the rest of the artists that make up the poster for this edition, outdoors and in a unique setting. In order for everyone to be able to experience, share and live music in equal conditions and in complete safety, we have included a platform with an access ramp in the venue.

From Phe we will ensure that all the public can have access to both the concerts and the gastronomy and trends area, where they will also find rest areas*.

Because we believe that music, art and everything that makes us vibrate They are experiences that all people should live and enjoy equally..

*The festival staff or Phe Team will be at your disposal to help you, and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to come to our information point, which will be located at the box office, where we will be delighted to assist you.

Phe Festival reaffirms its sustainable commitment

On the occasion of World Environment Day we remember and declare good intentions for the fourth edition of the festival and all those to come in Puerto de la Cruz, hoping that they will be many and successful…

“Keep your love for nature, because it is the true way of understanding art.”

Van Dick de Jong.

Phe Festival has declared itself from the beginning as an inspiring festival, dedicated not only to music but to trends in their broadest sense. The entire team behind the project believes that sustainability and care for the environment is an ideal goal to turn into a way of life, in reality, the most urgent of trends since it is the most necessary and vital of all.

Our growth is slow, but every year we challenge ourselves to improve in all possible aspects. Thanks also in part to the collaboration of all the phellowers who give us their pheedback through the form that we publish every year at the end of the festival. In this edition we have a new team that fully joins in just for the coordination of this entire area that also grows along with the festival.

separate to recycle

We promote the selective collection of waste at different points of the festival to reduce the amount of garbage and encourage recycling. The collaboration with Ecoembes  and Ecovidrio and your participation by throwing garbage in the appropriate landfills will help us take care of the environment while enjoying the festival.

In the enclosure you can also find a composter for organic food waste, etc. in the food area.

We also weigh the different types of waste to think of new ways not only to recycle but also to reduce their generation.

Remember that…

Yellow: light packaging (plastic, cans, etc).

Blue: for paper and cardboard.

Green: just glass.

Conventional: other remains

Composter: organic matter for composting.

An ephemeral venue designed to surprise

Our furniture and decoration are 100% sustainable, they are completely ecological or recycled materials, reused and transformed furniture, canvases from previous events converted into puffs filled with clean plastics collected by collaborating businesses, pallets... the bulbs and decorative lights are rechargeable or solar powered .

This year as a novelty there will be small models of solar panels for electricity self-sufficiency during the day at points such as ticket offices, bars, shops, etc. It is also planned to provide a water point for free use by the public, which can cool off in hot hours.

Turning something used into something new and different is also an art form. From the organization we promote this type of action by creating our festival space with materials used from other editions, recycled and reinvented. All this to transform an apparently inhospitable space like the esplanade of the quay, which during the rest of the year serves as nothing more than a car park.

Moving also leaves a mark

We want to reduce the footprint we leave on the environment when we move, trying to make as few trips as possible and by car sharing.

From the organization we will do everything in our power to facilitate access and parking, as well as reward those who leave zero footprint in our environment, moving to the festival by bike, skate, skate...

We encourage you to use public transport or share a car, even using collaborative internet platforms such as Blablacar, Amovens or Wonowo.

Responsible and local suppliers

We promote the good things that our land has and that is why we like to work with local suppliers that also have a responsible culture towards the environment. Both the supply for the backstage and for the staff come from local caterers with km 0 products.

In addition, this year we will again have different recycling and awareness workshops in the area outside the venue, conveying the message not only to festivalgoers but to all passers-by who come in a pleasant and active way.

Social integration of minority groups

We favor accessibility for people with disabilities as well as specially prepared spaces so that their participation in the festival is safe and they enjoy greater enjoyment from an elevated platform to watch the concerts with peace of mind.

We offset our carbon footprint

Planting a tree is sowing awareness.

Every year we take accounts to find out what the festival's carbon footprint has been, that is, its impact on the environment and offset it to nature. We will evaluate the consumption of water, electricity, gasoline, etc., and based on the result of these calculations, the action of planting its equivalent in trees will be carried out with the support of local associations and institutions.

DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF OUR SUSTAINABILITY TEAM AND LEAVE YOUR MARK WITH THE PHE FESTIVAL?!

If you want to be part of our sustainable project and consider yourself a person with motivation, ideas  and concern for the environment; If you want to enjoy the festival while being part of the team and taking care of the environment, go to our website and fill in the form to be a volunteer at Phe Festival and create an unforgettable experience.
