The meeting is the inaugural proposal of Phe Festival and is held on August 5 at the Cultural Space Castle

The value of culture as an accelerator of the sustainable development of cities is the central theme on which the meeting will revolve Ph I+C, to be held on the day August 5 in it Castle Cultural Space of Puerto de la Cruz. Among the speakers is Jose Moran, co-founder of the FIB, Benicàssim International Festival, who will analyze the role played by music industry as a tool to achieve urban objectives at the socioeconomic level. 'Musical Urbanism: What is the relationship between music and the city?' It will be the epigraph that you will use as a starting point to share your experience in consultancy, planning and development of cultural events.

Also the director of Image and Cultural Production of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Maria Jose Alcantara, under the title 'A museum in the sea??!!', will talk about the connection between art, underwater life and nature that the Atlantic Museum, recently inaugurated on that island, where nearly 400 submerged sculptures by the artist will be exhibited Jason deCaires Taylor.

Professor Emeritus of the University of La Laguna and PhD in Development Economics, Carlos Legna, joins the reflection on cultural management and its implications for tourism, providing a more theoretical-practical vision entitled 'Development, culture and technological change'. And various 'Environmental Readings for Rushing Intermediates' chosen by Gonzalo Prieto, president of the Para Team Cultural Association of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will provide continuity solution and animate this participatory meeting.

Impulsed by cultural environment of Puerto de la Cruz, the group Power Changers and Phe Festival, with the sponsorship of the CajaCanarias Foundation and the collaboration of University of La Laguna, this initiative aims to delve into the knowledge of successful cultural projects that transform the environment, generate economy and other potential added values, to put them in relation to similar activities that are already being carried out in Tenerife.

WAS, Siloé and The Taxman First confirmations of Phe 2017!

sidonie, WAS, Siloam and The Taxman are the first confirmed names of the second edition of Phe Festival, which will develop in first week of august a set of artistic and social proposals to enjoy a perfect vacation plan in Cross port. An outdoor trends fair, days of reflection and shared knowledge, concerts, activities and tours of the city complete the program of this event that reinforces its commitment to the cultural offer of the north of Tenerife.

After the notoriety achieved in the presentation edition last summer, the festival returns with a 2017 edition as one of the great proposals promoted by the Department of Culture of the Puerto de la Cruz City Council, with the support of Tenerife Tourism, a firm commitment to quality that also complements and enhances cultural tourism.

Phe is part of the planning project of the Cultural Strategy of Puerto de la Cruz 2020, which also includes projects of the stature of festivals such as journey, Mueca, port street art or Canary Jazz Festival and in which the public institution, City Council, seeks to generate alliances and complicity to promote the feeling of co-responsibility for a common project together with various entities, creators, citizen groups and private companies.

The Catalans sidonie with new album The worst group in the world (SonyMusic, 2016),  the electronic and dance sounds of the Basque group WAS (formerly We Are Standard), Siloam, one of the great revelations of the pop rock in Spanish, and the people of Tenerife The Taxman, winners of the last edition of the contest LALACore in the general category, are some of the names that will take to the stage of Ph 2017, whose final poster is not yet closed.

On the esplanade of the dock will also be held that week Phe Market, an outdoor and daytime trend fair, focused on fashion, design or technology, which will have a restaurant area, a stage, performances and innovative proposals.

The music of the festival will spread throughout the city, as in the last edition, with the program Phe Arounds, reserved for parties, DJ sessions and performances in leading venues as well as specific promotions in shops and restaurants in Puerto de la Cruz.

Phe Festival will celebrate a new edition in Cross port the second week of August with a proposal that brings together music, cinema, trends, gastronomy and innovation in the same space to enjoy a perfect vacation plan. Miss Caffeine, yall, Bizarre Love Triangle, Em DJ, Belop, Papaya, The Vinegars and The Good Company they join WAS, Siloam and The Taxman, previously confirmed,  for a poster still open to new additions. Less than a month to Ph 2017, the desire is getting bigger and bigger, that's why we want to get ahead with two phenomenal presentation parties and thus prepare ourselves for the explosive experience that we will live in August. Put it on the agenda!

The Good Company and The Taxman will be the stars of the event Phe Festival and The House By Heineken, which arrive at the two offices opened by Insular Canarias de Bebidas (Incabe) in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife the next Thursday 20 and Friday 21 July, respectively. The Phe Market trends fair completes the Phe Festival program with more than 65 brands

Music, fashion, cinema, gastronomy and innovation are the pillars on which this experience is based, which will be held in Puerto de la Cruz from August 8 to 12

The second edition of Phe Festival, which takes place from August 8 to 12, consolidates Cross port as a benchmark of cultural offer in the Canary Islands with an inspired cocktail that combines music, cinema, trends, gastronomy and innovation for all audiences. Among the novelties that it adds to its programming, the trends fair stands out Phe Market, which will house the proposals of 65 brands, 25 of them from the Emprende Moda island program, in addition to one restaurant area, children's area, workshops and current proposals. A whole display of fashion, art, culture, design and new technologies.

Today it was officially presented to the media with the presence of Sandra Rodríguez, Councilor for Finance and Culture of Puerto de la Cruz; Efraín Medina, Vice President of the Cabildo de Tenerife, José Luis Rivero, Insular Director of Culture of the Cabildo de Tenerife; Sergio Eiroa, general director of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands; and Carlos Ulises Salazar, artistic director of the Festival.

In her speech, Sandra Rodríguez stated that “Phe Festival fits perfectly into our strategy of promoting tourism with something more than the offer of sun and beach; we want to recover our cultural identity and that quotes like this become a hallmark of identity”. José Luis Rivero expressed himself in a similar way, who also added that “Puerto de la Cruz is a unique model in the Canary Islands of how culture is related to its territory and its people”.

Meanwhile, Efraín Medina and Sergio Eiroa agreed in their analyzes that their respective institutions support and fly exhibitions such as the Phe Festival in which new trends, commitment to change and innovation are fundamental pillars.

After the success of its first edition, Phe Festival returns with a broader and more complete offer. Five days with numerous options for all audiences that are encompassed under these six legends: Phe Music, Phe Market, Phe Films, Phe I+C, Phe Arounds and Phe Sports.

Categories that constitute the pillars of a festival that revolves around the idea of a perfect vacation plan, in a privileged location and star of tourism in the Islands such as Puerto de la Cruz.

This second edition broadens its commitment to music with two days, Friday 11 and  Saturday August 12, in a renclosure located on the esplanade of the pier. Miss Caffeina, Javiera Mena, Yall, León Benavente, Bejo & Dj Pimp, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, WAS, Belöp, Eme DJ, Siloé, Los Vinagres, Papaya, The Good Company The Taxman, We Are Trash and DJ Full FX –who was present with their music at the informative act – they will be the bands and artists of a poster designed for a heterogeneous public, eager to discover fresh and unique proposals to enjoy them collectively.

Phe Festival's commitment to the cultural offer in the north of Tenerife is extended and encompasses much more than music. In addition to integrating diverse artists and musical genres in the same space, it is adorned with Phe Market, which can be enjoyed throughout the festival, for free on Thursday, August 10, and integrated into the concert venue on Friday 11 and Saturday 12. An area where the latest trends in design, fashion and art will meet, with a total of 65 brands, and the outstanding presence of the program Undertake Fashion of the Cabildo de Tenerife, which participates with 25 signatures.

An interesting and varied gastronomic selection will stop at the festival site to offer culinary creations full of imagination and quality. La Dulzoneta, Café Caramba, Raíces Food Truck, as well as a specific seafood stand courtesy of Pescadería Marisquería Puerto, Canary Wine, Dolcezza Helados Artesanales, Food Truck Frida, Creperie Le Monde, Con limon y sal Food Truck, Phe Food Stand and La sweets make up the careful selection of cuisine and drinks for all tastes in the restaurant area.

Phe Market also incorporates picnic area and rest islands to enjoy the festival. Also a children's area, where they have been organized  cooking, makeup, recycling and sustainability workshops. In the enclosure there will also be installed a skateboard ramp of free use where contests and challenges have been organized at different times for skaters of all ages.

Bet on culture

Phe 2017 opens on August 8 and 9 with a meeting open to reflection and knowledge with conferences that, under the name Ph I+C, will lead to Castle Cultural Space conferences, workshops and different activities to analyze and discuss culture, tourism and innovation in a relaxed key, as well as in 'shorts and cholas'.

In their inaugural activity they will have the interventions of Pau Llacuna i Ortiz, former director of Fira Tárrega, international performing arts market, and Veronica Werckmeister of IMVG (Vitoria Gasteiz Mural Route) to talk about Cultural projects that transform the environment. The practical side of the meeting will be on Wednesday 9 with workshops on Innovative insights that transform people: mapping, robotics, fab lab, digital music, social urban planning... which end with a series of short talks under the title Phe Kucha.

The most creative aspect of the festival is oriented towards cinema and audiovisual production. Phe Films is a call with digital DNA aimed at teams interested in spending a few days of intensive filming for the creation of a piece in Puerto de la Cruz during the second week of August, coinciding with the dates of Phe Festival. The winner will receive a prize of 600 euros. The work most voted by the public through the web will be awarded 300 euros. The participants also opt for a national and international distribution campaign that will be carried out in collaboration with the distribution company Digital 104.

The subscription for the two days of concerts (40 euros), as well as individual tickets for each of the days (22 euros), can be purchased at the online store on the official website www.phefestival.com, as well as at Ticketea. com and Tickety.es. Students can purchase passes at the price of 30 euros. From Monday the 7th, a box office will be installed on the esplanade of the wharf where you can buy tickets and advance tickets at this price. The festival also has more than 30 physical points of sale distributed in the north, south and metropolitan area of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and La Gomera.

In addition, given the forecasts of tourist occupation in the city and with the intention of diversifying the accommodation options, this year's edition incorporates the possibility of camping, which will be installed in the Manolo Santaella Sports Center and will open its stalls from the 9th to the 13th of August and whose places, at the price of €5 per person and night, can be reserved in the festival's online store.

If we already said it. Speaking of a perfect plan of vacation for everyone, we meant everyone… everyone. Because it can be possible without having to choose. If you are a father or mother, you can come and enjoy Phe Festival and you won't have to do it without the little ones. We define ourselves as family-friendly, and this summer in Cross port your children will be part of the plan.

Of course, for greater precaution and security, let us previously remind you of a series of guidelines that you will have to keep in mind to go with them:

  • Remember that children under 12 years of age have free access to the festival. If, on the other hand, your child is between 13 and 17 years old, they can buy their ticket or reduced price subscription (presenting the student card).
  • On the other hand, remember that children under 16 must be accompanied by their mother, father or authorized guardian.
  • Finally, and to guarantee their safety and mitigate your concern, they will only be able to access the premises if they have a signed authorization from the legal guardian. 1. Information points

First of all, and because we know that no matter how much you read this text today, you probably won't remember everything tomorrow, we want to make you aware of our information points. We will have several on the premises to help you in all you need. Thoroughly detailed, you can find all available services, workshop hours and registration, accessible areas for people with reduced mobility, location of stands, application for authorization for minors (which you can download and fill out  HERE).


2. Robotics workshop (Phe I+C)

Due to the good acceptance of the events related to Ph I+C, this year we will offer more options and time for them. As for the offer designed exclusively for the little ones, there will be a workshop on the most practical day of this meeting. The Wednesday, August 9, from 17:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Castillo San Felipe and for ages between 8 to 16 years old, they will be able to participate in a robotics workshop. Specifically, to teach them how to create, build and program a robot with LEGO Mindstorm Ev3. Quite a challenge for them!


3. Skate workshop (Phe Sports)

If your son or daughter is more into sports, let us introduce you Phe Sports, another play area suitable for them. Thinking about the preferences of the youngest in our festival, urban sport was presented as one of the best and most requested options. This year, and in collaboration with Northwest Skate Shop, we installed a free-use ramp in the enclosure during the days of celebration of Phe Market and that on Thursday 10 will give the opportunity to the little ones to make a introductory skateboarding workshop. This workshop will be free and it will not be necessary to bring any type of material. It is aimed at children between the ages of 4 and 15, and will last 45 minutes in two sessions, in the morning. That same day in the afternoon, they can get ready to vibrate with the miniramp under 16 championship, before the adult championship between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with a very attractive package of prizes that the collaborating brands and the festival.


       

 

4. Cooking workshops (Phe Market)

Giving the importance they deserve to the small chefs of the house and from the hand of your pot is goingwill be organized two culinary workshops. The first of them, for lunch (12:00 – 1:30 p.m.), will be designed for the creative development of children, who make your own lunch. Do you know what the menu will be? Lentil burger, yogurt sauce, pink pita bread and salad, yummy! Secondly, the food that they like the most, becomes important with the snack workshop, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., where they will prepare a very fun option: gofio pizza lollipops and Phe festival cake decoration. Both workshops are designed for children between the ages of 5 and 14 and each participant will have to pay €25 per workshop. In addition, both have the possibility of prior registration until available places are exhausted. Bon appétit!

5. Phe Kids Toy Library (Phe Market)

Lastly, and thinking of combining both family time and individual enjoyment, we We offer a toy library service for children between 3 and 10 years old. Available practically every day. With the trust and closeness of Luke Park the venue will have a professional monitor for every eight children and all kinds of activities will be carried out: face painting, balloon twisting, zumba, songs, crafts, various games... Places are limited and you can make your advance reservation. The schedule, in case you want to organize yourself, will be Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., while on Friday and Saturday it will work from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. CAs the icing on the cake, we will have what we like the most throughout the day: music! to liven up the experience and make the little ones keep the memory of the best days of summer.
