8 places to shoot a short film in Puerto de la Cruz

8 places to shoot a short film in Puerto de la Cruz

you know that in Phe Festival We aspire to be a platform that generates artistic and social actions with personality that inspire a committed and active public. That's why we don't want to only offer live concerts, which there will also be, and with a luxury line-up! Our hope is that whoever approaches Cross port the second week of august find a great entertainment experience made up of the sum of music, cinema, trends, gastronomy and innovation.

So we have launched with the call for Phe Films: an eintensive filming meeting for the creation of an audiovisual piece in Tenerife during the celebration of the festival. And we know that in the Canary Islands there are great creatives, very skilled with camera techniques, and for this reason we want to invite you to discover the potential of the tourist city, where culture is breathed in each of its streets, houses, monuments and landscapes, and turn them into the perfect movie set.

Do you want to be the next winner of the Goya for best short? We have prepared this list with some charming place ideas (or not) to shoot the movie of the century and win the Phe Films award (yes, it has reward). Throw a little imagination and action!

1.- Port Street Art

For those looking for original decorations, there is nothing better than discovering the urban art that turns Puerto de la Cruz into an open-air museum: Puerto Street Art.

2.- The legendary Taoro hotel

If suspense stories are your thing, there's nothing cooler than the old Taoro hotel, the place where Agatha Christie stayed during her visit in 1927 and now offers a more than mysterious aspect…

3.- The sea, one more character

We have also thought of those who prefer stories bathed by the sea, be it the auteur genre, catastrophes or romantic drama. For lovers of the waves and the smell of the Atlantic, Puerto de la Cruz offers two wonderful black sand beaches, MartiƔnez and Playa Jardƭn, as well as the natural pools of the San Telmo shoals or Lake MartiƔnez, a complex designed by CƩsar Manrique. Your stories will shine with the imposing figure of Teide in the background!

4.- The esplanade lighthouse bathed in a multicolored sky

If the previous ones have not finished convincing you, we have for you a more than obligatory location, the lighthouse on the esplanade bathed by the characteristic multicolored skies and its intense smell of the sea that will bathe any cinematographic story with charm.

5.- The Fisherwoman

Urbanites! You can also make use of its architectural and urban richness to create the most phenomenal cinematographic stories. In addition, a movie is not about Puerto de la Cruz if the Fisherwoman sculpture presiding over the Fishing Pier does not appear. And you know.

6.- Sports as an excuse

Puerto de la Cruz is the ideal place to practice sports in an unbeatable natural environment, outdoors and with a mild temperature all year round. Surfing, hiking, golf, paragliding or diving can be the perfect protagonists of your short film.

7.- Botany also matters

Did the above locations seem uninspiring to you? Don't despair! Explorers and nature lovers have in the Botanical Garden and the gardens of Sitio Liter two essential filming spaces with a lot of magic...

Ā 8.- Phe Festival

It is clear that of all the filming sets that we have mentioned in Puerto de la Cruz, one is missing: Phe Festival. You feel identified with the good vibes of our proposal and you want to make a fashion film, an aftermovie or a music clip with summer as an excuse. We love!

Imagine it, write it down and film it… hush, it's filmed!
