The radical electronics of VVV [Trippin’ You] and the elastic sound of the Basque band EZEZEZ, new additions to the 2026 lineup, alongside the Canary Islands acts Good Franco, Xerach, and Belice

The festival, which takes place on September 4th and 5th in Puerto de la Cruz, is returning to its two-stage format with 18 live artists, and a third stage, Phe Club, dedicated to dance music, with its lineup to be announced in the coming days.

The eleventh edition of Tenerife Phe Festival, which will be held on September 4 and 5 in the Tenerife municipality of Puerto de la Cruz, completes its artistic lineup with the addition of three British bandsFat Dog, Faeda and Arxx. Alongside these three international artists, to whom are added the also British Ibibio Sound Machine, Getdown Services and She Mafalda, New Yorkers Corner store And the Argentine singer Natalia Doco, Phe Festival will bring high-voltage national acts to Puerto de la Cruz, such as the radical electronic music from the Madrid-based band VVV [Trippin’ You], and the elastic sound mosaic between rock, grunge, and funk that the Bilbao natives defend EZEZEZ.

Three other Canary Islands projects will be present at the eleventh edition of the Tenerife festival: Good Franco, Xerach and Belize. Three proposals that were finalists for the Sonora 2026 group contest, and in the case of Good Franco, a co-winner with Los Blody, will perform at Phe Festival with the Sonora Passport.

With the presence of Fat Dog, English band formed in 2020 in Southeast London by Joe Love, Chris Hughes, Morgan Wallace, and Johnny Doghead Hutch, Tenerife Phe Festival reaffirms its dedication to being an international showcase with musical acts that challenge traditional genres.

In this case, Fat Dog promises a show in Puerto de la Cruz on the first weekend of September. The incendiary debut single King of the Slugs, in August 2023, a punk-techno hybrid put Fat Dog on the map. Their debut album Woof (Domino/Music As Usual, 2024) showcases the eclecticism of this band that “combines chaotic electronics, Balkan melodies, wild surrealism, and punk attitude in an unpredictable cocktail that could be placed between Viagra Boys, Underworld, and The Fall.”mondosound).

Two other British formations Faeda and ARXX complete the presence of international artists. Faeda This is a "greater seams" indie rock band from the Scottish town of Thurso, comprising Robbie McNicol (vocals and guitar), Sam Cowan (drums), Cole Cummings (bass), and Jamie Mackay (guitar), who have released a handful of singles that have earned them a reputation as the Scottish band with the best live shows.

The Spanish Wave It is a project for the internationalization of Spanish talent that aims to help export emerging artists and bands from our country, and Phe Festival has renewed its collaboration agreement for the second consecutive year in 2026, which favors the presence of one national and one international artist/group selected by this platform for the eleventh edition of the Porto festival.

LOL In a band originating from Bilbao, formed by Unai Madariaga (vocals, guitar), Mikel Irigoyen (bass), Eneko Ajangiz (guitar), and Álvaro Olaetxea (drums), they have burst onto the scene with force since their formation in 2021, shaking the foundations of the national independent scene with a proposal brimming with quality, originality, and tons of attitude. In the vein of bands like Idles or Viagra Boys, EZEZEZ reveal themselves to be elastic, surprising, and restless, taking pop foundations and molding them with the grit of punk, the individuality of grunge, and the nerve of rock. To this, they add funk elements, reggae nods, Euskal culture, poetry, humor, performance, message, and experimentation to achieve, as a result, a unique project.

Its third studio album, Kabarkiba, it is the riskiest and most accurate of his career to date, and it serves to seal an upward trajectory well supported by the previous album Katuzaldía and the more than 90 presentation concerts.

Queer power pop and wild electronica

For its part, ARXX is a duo of queer power pop born in Brighton, who form

singer and guitarist Hanni Pidduck and drummer Clara Townsend. “Imagine Taylor Swift if she had only listened to Nirvana,” the band explains in their Bandcamp bio to introduce themselves. In 2024, they released the single Crying in the Carwash which gave them a certain popularity, leading them to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at the Glastonbury Festival. In their discography, the EPs Daughters of Daughters (2018) and Wrong Girl, Honey (2019); and the albums Ride or Die (2023) and Good Boy (2024).

Among the new additions to the Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 lineup, the Madrid-based band is noteworthy VVV [Trippin’ You], a trio that mixes post-punk, synthwave, and dark electronic music with a strong aesthetic rooted in urban and nocturnal imagery. The group has become one of the most prominent names in the new Spanish underground scene of guitars and synthesizers. Their songs combine danceable rhythms, dense atmospheres, and generational lyrics filled with irony and disillusionment.

The formation led by Adrián Bremner has positioned itself as a fierce creature on the national scene and works such as Scale (2020), Turboviolence (2021) or emptier (2023) has led them to play at some of the most relevant festivals of the genre in our country such as SONAR, BBK, or MIRA Festival, as well as on different stages in the United States, Mexico, or Colombia. Their latest album is Mecharadio (2025), where electronics move between the cinematic and the sensory.

The island scene, at Phe Festival

The current music scene in the Canary Islands is diversely represented at Phe Festival 2026. Among those already confirmed like Choclock, the artistic alias of Sergio Bruno Miguel Delgado, one of the most versatile artists on the music scene who has stood out for his ability to fuse genres and create melodies that connect with the public, both in his role as producer and singer, are also added Just Becca, a Tenerife native participating in Phe Festival through awards from the CajaCanarias Foundation, three other bands: Belize, Good Franco and Xerach.

We renewed the AGF certification as one of the most sustainable festivals in Spain

The festival, which will be held on September 4th and 5th in Puerto de la Cruz, surpasses, for the second consecutive year, one of the most demanding sustainability audits in the international music sector.

Phe Festival has been re-certified by A Greener Future AGF, the prestigious British auditing firm specializing in sustainability for international festivals and cultural events, after thoroughly evaluating the 2025 edition. This certification consolidates the festival as one of the benchmarks in sustainability within the Canary Islands' cultural scene, reinforcing a track record marked by environmental, social, and community commitment.

The AGF distinction is awarded after an independent evaluation process that analyzes multiple areas of an event's impact, such as waste management, water consumption, energy and CO2 emissions, accessibility, transportation, the use of local suppliers, and integration with the surroundings. During the 2025 edition, The AGF evaluation team conducted an on-site analysis during the event, verifying the correct implementation of sustainable measures. and compliance with the standards required by the entity.

Among the most notable actions that have contributed to this new certification are the implementation of free water dispensers at the bars, the use of reusable cups with a return system, the proceeds of which were donated to an animal rescue association ADEPAC, along with mandatory selective waste separation throughout the venue. This is complemented by a commitment to local suppliers and products, the use of compostable tableware in dining areas, and the measurement of the event's carbon footprint as a tool for continuous analysis and improvement, for the second consecutive year.

The festival has also reinforced its social and inclusive dimension through collaboration with organizations such as AFES Mental Health and SINPROMI, the provision of an accessible venue with a platform for people with reduced mobility, smoking areas with provided ashtrays, and its character family-friendly, with free admission for children under 12 and a kids' area. Additionally, Phe Festival maintains a close collaboration with over 35 businesses in Puerto de la Cruz, fostering a positive and direct impact on the local economy.

The Madrid band Cycle turned the national scene upside down in 2005 with an energetic proposal of rock and electronic music that turned every live concert into a massive experience. Undoubtedly, the perfect equation for dancing, with a calibrated dose of electro and rock, which will be present at the tenth anniversary of Phe Festival, in Puerto de la Cruz. Cycle returns to Phe Festival next Friday, September 5 with the 20th anniversary tour of their debut album, Weak on the Rocks, which contained hits from their repertoire such as Mechanical, Apple Tree, Perfect pervert or Confusion!!!

This is the second time Cycle has performed at Phe Festival, following their appearance at the first edition held in 2016, on a single day and on a debut lineup for the Puerto de Santa María festival which also featured Belako, Of faith, Kostrok and 33. This time, Cycle is one of the featured acts on the main stage of Phe Festival for its tenth anniversary, performing on opening day alongside Nada Surf, Dorian, Ale Acosta, San Tosielo, and Los Blody.

The project led by David Kano, along with guitarist Juanjo Reig and China Patino, has a new singer: Carlos Ortega from Lanzarote (Zurych, Monkey Faces). He is the fourth male vocalist the project has had. Cycle From its inception, first with Luke Donovan, followed by Ziclope and Matthias Freund, the lead singer of the German band Codec & Flexo.
With five albums released, as well as remixes and singles, Weak on the rocks (2005), Sleepwalkers (2009), Stripped (2011), Dance All Over (2015) and Electric (2018) and after nearly five years of silence, in late 2024 the band announced its return to the stage with the 20th-anniversary tour for *Weak on the Rocks*. The tour has taken the band to festivals such as Metrópoli Gijón, Sonorama Ribera (Burgos), and No Sin Música (Cádiz), as well as the upcoming Phe Festival (Tenerife), and venues in Madrid, Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa), Vitoria-Gasteiz, Tarragona, Barcelona, and Valencia, among others.
On the occasion of the anniversary of Weak on the Rocks, last May Cycle began releasing remixes of the debut album. A series of installments that DJ Nano inaugurated with his take on the classic. Confusion!!! This hit was followed last June by the track "Ray of Ease," remixed by Spaniard Siliodisco and Colombian Mao Fonegra; and in July, the also classic from his "flammable" repertoire, "Apple Tree," in a reinterpretation by Parissior and Size M.

The band is in enviable shape, and their concerts continue to captivate audiences just as they did in their early days, as has been evident on this tour. This is confirmed by singer Carlos Ortega, who previews the band's concert at Phe Festival: “We play almost the entire Weak on the Rocks album, but we also play other songs that we have to play, like ”Saturday Girl' or 'Wicked,' which are on other albums and are singles.".
“Cycle is something else,” points out Carlos Ortega when asked how the experience of being the voice of Cycle is going. “The 20th anniversary tour is going very well. When I signed up for this story, I knew there would be movement,” emphasizes the singer. And as he rightly emphasizes, “the band had a very good peak in the early 2000s; at that time, there were no bands doing this type of music, with male-female singers, and with a very powerful formula.”.

Essay and touring

And how did Carlos Ortega get involved with Cycle in this new phase of the band? “It was a sum of coincidences, really. We crossed paths at Arrecife en Vivo, when they won the award for medium-format festival and played a concert at El Reducto, before the pandemic. I went with Monkey Faces, which was just starting out, and Cycle was on the bill, before the last lineup change, with Cynthia Lund and Mathias.”.

Carlos Ortega remembers that “David Kano liked the concert, he wrote down the license plate, and that was that. But a couple of summers ago, when David decided to reactivate the band and announced on social media that they were looking for a new singer, a mutual friend from Lanzarote reminded David about it. I spoke with him, he sent me the audio of some songs to add the vocals to: Apple Three, Confusion!!! and Saturday Girl, and he liked it. The next thing was to go to Madrid, rehearse, and announce that Cycle had a new singer.”.

Of all the good things that have come from Cycle's return, for Carlos Ortega, one of the very special dates in 2025 is their performance at Phe Festival. He was at the 2023 edition leading the Lanzarote band Zurych, and now he returns as the frontman of Cycle. “It will be a special concert, and we're going to play a new song that won't be on the next album, Cycle's sixth, which we're already preparing. An album that deviates a bit from the line that has been usual in their recent work, although it has very marked traces of Cycle but in a much more elegant and mature style,” he assures.

The new album, Cycle's sixth, “is almost finished.”, with a first single on the horizon, to be released at the end of the year, once the tour concludes 20th anniversary.

Ale Acosta lands on the Phe Festival stage after starting his solo career in 2024.‘The future’is his first album in this new phase after almost 30 years in the music world, producing and belonging to emblematic projects such as Mojo Project or Fuel Fandango. This debut solo album is a highly anticipated, very personal record featuring collaborations with numerous artists such as Valeria Castro, Santa Marta, Juancho Marqués or depedro. This is a dance electronic work sprinkled with influences from their extensive and successful musical career.

A musical career that has been awarded numerous recognitions and accolades for one of the most outstanding contemporary musicians from the Canary Islands. One of the most recent recognitions, in 2024, was a nomination for the Latin Grammy Awards in the category of ‘Best Latin Electronic Music Performance’ for the track ‘The Ash’next to the palm tree Valeria Castro and what is included in his first solo album ‘The future’.

Los Blody, a rock band born in Tenerife, are coming to Phe Festival with a promising live performance that will sweep away stereotypes of more commercial music. Their first album was released at the end of 2024: ‘I'm not going to die here’It’s pure rock, but it also mixes styles with lyrics that talk about their generation and timidly approaches the urban genre.

This quintet has been rebuilt after a first phase under the name Bloody Valentine, the name they were known by in the Lala Music band competition. They are sincere and do not practice false humility, something they make quite clear in some interviews granted to the media. With the characteristic rebellion of seasoned rockers, Los Blody will present themselves to the Phe Festival audience fair and square.

Nave Rota will be another of the Canary Islands bands that will be at the tenth edition of Phe Festival. They are the incorporation that comes thanks to winning the Sonora Passport in the musical competition of the same name held in May in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Daniel Ferreiro, Carlos Arocha and Victor McClane they get into a musical vehicle piloted by talent, experience, and the pursuit of new sonic landscapes, even those that are more ambient and electronic. They don't sound broken, as the guitar, bass, and drums trio flows naturally and creatively.

Their first five-song EP marked the band's debut in 2023. However, the project was formed in mid-2022, and they began developing material based on improvisation during rehearsals before finalizing its form. From a foundation of drums, guitar, and bass, they incorporate live-triggered sequences and vocal textures, steering this ship into more ambient and electronic territories. After studio work, live performances emerged, where that same naturalness, characteristic of rehearsals with three musicians dedicated to guiding this ship to safe harbor, can also be felt.

More Canary Islanders infiltrated

A legendary group, for their attitude and repertoire, and with a legion of followers in Spain thanks to their countless tours with each new album and their regular presence at festivals, they will be performing live in Puerto de la Cruz on Friday, September 5th, on the opening day of the tenth edition of Phe Festival. Nada Surf is one of the main attractions on the first day of concerts at the Portuense festival, which also features national groups Dorian, Cycle, and Carlangas on the main stage, the Canary Islands bands San Tosielo and Los Blody, and sets by Abraham Boba (León Benavente), Beat Creator, and Eva Olvido and MCR Selector.

Nada Surf arrives at Phe Festival during Moon Mirror's European tour, their latest studio album and first in four years after Never Not Together (2020), which is being released to coincide with the 30th anniversary of his debut single, The Plan/Telescope (1994). A tour that has New Yorkers on the road from mid-July to the end of September through cities in France, Italy, Holland, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, and Norway, among other destinations. The Phe Festival date is the only one in Spain on this summer stretch of the Moon Mirror Tour, which had presentation concerts in Madrid, Bilbao, and Zaragoza last November, and others in peninsular territory this same year.
The band, which began as a trio in 1992 in New York with Matthew Caws on guitar and vocals; Ira Elliot, formerly of Fuzztones, on drums and vocals; and Madrid's Dani Lorca on bass and vocals; and as a quartet with guitarist Doug Gillard, of Guided by Voices, since 2012, among other collaborators, has accumulated a solid three-decade career with a repertoire that has become part of the collective consciousness as the soundtrack to several generations.

On Phe Festival hymns from their repertoire will sound, from the classic "Popular" that opened doors for them internationally, to the most recent ones that encompass their latest release: In Front Of Me Now, New Propeller, Losing, Second Skin or Moon Mirror, which gives its title to the album. A work recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales with producer Ian Laughton, featuring keyboardist Louie Lino, which keeps the essence of Nada Surf intact.

And Nada Surf's sonic evolution is reflected in the diversity of styles and genres they have explored in their discography. There's nothing to spare in a production with about fifteen releases, including eleven studio albums, live recordings, and other releases. Nada Surf presented their credentials with the single The Plan/Telescope (1994) and it would be the debut album High/Low (1996) which would bring them fame and open doors with the song "Popular." A handful of energetic pop songs in a power trio format, ten tracks in 36 and a half minutes for the Elektra label, produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars.

Then titles such as The Proximity Effect (1998), Let Go (2002), The Weight Is a Gift (2005), Fortunate (2008), If I Had a Hi-Fi (2010), The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy (2012), You know who you are (2016), Peaceful spirits (2016), Never Not Together (2020) and Moon Mirror (2024).
There's no known bad or mediocre album from these New Yorkers, which speaks volumes for a band that enjoys its craft and the stage. From alternative rock to the incorporation of keyboards and synthesizers, the band has known how to adapt to current musical trends without losing its original essence and the search for balance between energy and melody, elements that define their unique and characteristic sound.

First visit to the Canary Islands in 1999

Nada Surf has maintained a very special relationship with the Spanish public since their beginnings. Frequent visitors to the Iberian territory, playing in venues and festivals, with the tours supporting the albums they've released since the late 1990s, the band has earned enormous popularity and respect among the national audience.
In April 1999, on the occasion of the presentation of the second album The Proximity Effect (1998), Nada Surf performed for the first time in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, at the pub La Calle, on the last two dates of a tour that had taken the then-trio through Vigo, Madrid, Irún, La Rioja, Cádiz, and Logroño.

The 22-year-old singer from Cadiz lands in Puerto de la Cruz with the tour for her debut album ‘Bodhiria,’ as the icon of a new generation that connects tradition and avant-garde.

Judeline She is one of the most promising voices in the new Spanish pop scene. With millions of streams of their repertoire across all platforms streaming, Judeline has been recognized as the artist representing the future of European music after winning two awards at MME (MME Award and Public Choice Award) at the Eurosonic Noorderslag 2025 festival, and receiving the El Ojo Crítico de RNE award, among other accolades. Judeline was the only Spaniard to perform on stage at the Coachella festival (California), held in April of this year, in addition to being present at major national festivals. In this regard, it should be noted that Judeline decided to cancel her performance this year at the Benicassim International Festival due to FIB's link to the KKR fund and its support for the Israeli offensive in Gaza.

Created between tradition and the avant-garde, Judeline doesn't want to pigeonhole her music or seek a label to define the kind of emotionally charged pop she practices, which is filled with spirituality. In the presence of the New York band Nada Surf and the Canaries San Tosielo, Broken Ship and Los Blody, it's worth highlighting the incorporation of Ganges, project selected from 400 proposals from 75 different locations that received the call for the Spanish music internationalization program The Spanish Wave, in its first collaboration with the Tenerife festival.
