The two British bands delivered energetic concerts in their debut in the Canary Islands at the most comprehensive and international edition of the Tenerife Phe Festival, which also left memorable performances such as Ibibio Sound Machine, Bodega, Arxx, and Natalia Doco.

The popularity, success, and mass-phenomenon status to which every artist aspires can be measured by their convening power at every concert, album and/or song sales, or the streams they accumulate on the channels of streaming and the mass of followers monitoring every move on social media. But there is another factor perhaps just as important as all the above: when you reach that star-studded Olympus, the audience takes ownership of the songs and every concert turns into a real-time collective karaoke. From this point on, the connection between the musicians and the audience, or vice versa, enters another dimension.

This is what happened with two of the national artists that the Tenerife Phe Festival brought to Puerto de la Cruz this year: Barry B on Friday's opening day, and the native of A Coruña Carlos Ares on the second night of concerts of the festival. Each in their own style, always versatile, changing color when the song calls for it, they put their live muscle on full display and showed how their repertoires become a continuous back-and-forth with the audience. 

Barry B, the artist from Aranda de Duero, faced thousands of people who accompanied him singing every song he performed, the ones from the album Chato (2024) and its most recent Miscalibrated childhood (2025). Play Beautiful, of Chato, was the opening of a set that captivated the audience who knew all of them by heart, the old ones and the new ones, to the surprise of Barry B, who didn't hesitate to leave the stage and cross the human barrier in front of him, giving away kisses, smiles, and signing autographs for anyone in the front row who asked for it. An impeccable live performance of his that he dispatched with elegance thanks to a repertoire that the audience has made their own and that features tracks like Do you want to self-destruct with me, Crystal giant, Monster truck, Victoria or Miscalibrated childhood, which is the title of his latest release from 2025.

But if there was a special moment at the Barry B concert, it was the duet with Madrid-born Gara Durán with The lake of my sorrow, from the album Chato (2024) and the celebrated A house on Teide. He said goodbye with I thought I had hit the jackpot., a song in collaboration with Carolina Durante amidst a sea of applause from an audience that got what they came to look for at Phe Festival.

Carlos Ares did his thing with the proposal that came to the Tenerife Phe Festival on Saturday in Puerto de la Cruz. Before getting into the songs that envelop Pilgrim (2024) y The Lion's Den (2025), the Friday chronicle makes it clear that the festival is not sustained by Barry B alone. In this eleventh edition, the most complete due to the diversity of styles and the most international, guitars, speed, and of course, dancing rule. On Friday, right there were the British Fat Dog in the final live set of the day, where they turned the main stage upside down with a wild crowd moshing like there was no tomorrow, along with singer and guitarist Joe Love jumping into the pit constantly and mingling with everyone. It was a crazy show by the Brits—who feature a sax and violin in their lineup, thanks to a sonic palette that fits a bit of everything: a sort of electro-punk, techno, and rock, thick basslines, and dance sequences that at times linked Fat Dog's sound to Nitzer Ebb or Alien Sex Fiend—and a very punk attitude, so to speak, that caught on with the audience. By the creators of King of the Slugs and the acclaimed debut album Woof (2024) pieces remain on the retina of the eleventh Tenerife Phe Festival that are worth a good dance, or mosh pit, of the caliber of Shit Love, Cancel Me (I’m Tired) o Go Fuck Urself.

The Canarian scene

On Friday, the 2026 Tenerife Phe Festival opened with Xerach. The singer and percussionist from Gran Canaria, accompanied by Magali Datzira on guitars and Adriana Puentes on keyboards, presented her latest repertoire with pieces such as What I am going to lie, If I am Chavela, you are Frida, What a name, what a face, how rare or You love me, I adore you. It was the first sound check at the launch of the eleventh edition of the festival, which would lead the audience to move between the two main stages, Deichmann and Heineken, featuring proposals of different styles and formats. 

With Arxx, the Brighton duo formed by guitarist Hanni Pidduck and drummer Clara Townsend, opened the first international window of this year with a concert that justified the organization's effort. Crying in the carwash, Trouble, Like Hell, Good Boy or Ride or Die with which they closed their performance, were some of the songs at their first concert in the Canary Islands.

The Madrid band Rufus T. Firefly led by Víctor Cabezuelo and Julia Martín-Maestro, took over the main stage in their return to Phe Festival following their appearance in 2021. A brilliant repertoire peppered with pop and psychedelic songs like Jade Nebula, Blue Thunder, I know where the ducks go when the lake freezes, Blue Thunder, Song of Peace or The beginning of everything.

The second Canarian artist at the Tenerife Phe Festival was Belice. The people from Gran Canaria, with their indie rock proposal, finalists of the Sonora 2026 contest just like Xerach, connected with the already numerous audience with Perfect manifesto, I promise not to leave you alone or Let the world dance.

New Yorkers Bodega they held their first concert in the Canary Islands in Puerto de la Cruz and the first of a seven-date tour of Spain in September, with a stop at Ebrovisión, in Miranda de Ebro, on Saturday after performing at Phe Festival, presenting their fourth album All Inside Aquarium, which will be released on October 9. Echoes of ESG and the attitude of The B’52s and many other bands from that era, post-punk, dance-punk, art rock, no wave, rhythmic tension, and dance cadences come together in this band fronted by Ben Hozie and Nikki Belfiglio. They opened the concert with How did this happen, from her first album Endless Scroll (2018), in the wake of LCD Soundsystem, to enter with the new ones, such as Slow Train, Bob Dylan version, Pick up the Check, Weather Me, All Inside Aquarium, which gives the album its title, or Combustible; and there was time to look back at his repertoire with Myrtle Parade or Can’t knock the hustle. 

To the Basque party EZEZEZ, performing at Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 alongside the Scots from Faeda in collaboration with The Spanish Wave, they had to perform after Fat Dog and before Ibibio Sound Machine, which closed the first day. The band, originating from Bilbao and formed by Unai Madariaga (vocals, guitar), Mikel Irigoyen (bass), Eneko Ajangiz (guitar), and Álvaro Olaetxea (drums), delivered a good concert with a proposal that, due to its originality, has no counterpart in the national scene. In the wake of Idles or Viagra Boys, they presented, among others, tracks from their third studio album, Hello, with which they have confirmed the potential of the project. 

The groove of Ibibio Sound Machine

The closing of the first live music carousel had a lot of groove, afrofunk, and electronic polish with the British lineup Ibibio Sound Machine. The second Canary Islands concert by this ensemble fronted by Nigerian singer Eno Williams—the band was at Womad in 2022 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria—brought collective dancing to the main stage as the early morning hours began to slip away. A vibrant live performance led by some of the tracks from their new and sixth studio album Chopping Mountain (2026), which will be published on September 11. They sounded Concept of Love, Return to Sender and Loveand, premiering for the Tenerife audience at Phe Festival; and other hits with a contagious rhythm from his discography, such as Protection from Evil, Lets Dance or Pull the Rope, with which they closed their performance. 

In this edition, where the festival brought back the two stages for live music, the open-air nightclub that was Phe Club, the open-air nightclub with continuous and uninterrupted programming from opening to closing, left behind on Friday the memorable sessions of Roman Flügel and the set of Phil Hartnoll (Orbital) with a concert of the band's classics and priceless remixes like London Calling, by The Clash, encapsulated in breaks, twisted basslines and thick synths. A stage with a notable presence from the Canary Islands scene, which on Friday hosted the Sun Dance Family Session for a family audience familiar with Dita Konnat and Claudia Bliss, beside Koset Quintana and Yaiza Martinon; JJust Beca & Candela, Sound Island and Mostany.

Getdown Services, duo hits

Tenerife's Phe Festival focused this year and bet on several international bands that made the organization's effort worthwhile for the public, which is the most important asset of the festival and the artists. Saturday was the turn of Getdown Services. the Bristol duo of Josh Law and Ben Sadler. Their debut album, Chips (2023) put them on the map with a simple formula that works, and at settings like Phe Festival the party was in full swing. Dance rhythms, disco rock or disco punk, two voices, sequences, and a Gibson SG guitar spitting out riffs in the vein of AC/DC over beats and phrasing that evoke the Beastie Boys. At Phe Festival, the duo ended up shirtless and in shorts, delivering a repertoire where nothing was superfluous, including the infectious The Radiator, from his brand new recent album Massive Champions (2026), the chart-topper Dog Drool or I Can't Die Like That, among others.

Getdown Services said goodbye while it was playing One More Time, by Daft Punk, on a second day that offered a lot of great music. She Mafalda opened the concert series. As a duo with drummer Alex Moreno, the concert allowed audiences to discover his work on the Island and the balance of pop and rock that permeates the songs. He played tracks from his album Reset (2025), Jump and Sedated, among others, in addition to their latest single Anthem; he brought it to his turf I am no longer that woman, by Mari Trini, and premiered a collaboration with La Bien Querida that is released this week under the title of I want. 

Ahead are two artists from Tenerife: Little Alaska, which presented the repertoire of its first album Universal Theory published this year, which includes topics such as Passenger Lovers, Burn, Galaxy, They've done it again, What we went looking for and The place where you grew up, were part of his repertoire; and Choclock, the alias of Sergio Bruno Miguel Delgado, one of the most versatile artists on the music scene and this year's featured act at the Tenerife Phe Festival. For him and the R&B towards which his songs lean, the main stage was set with the makings of a genre figure. The author of works such as Bruno (2019) y Magua with Honey (2022), I'm Colorblind, But I Feel Blue (2024–25), or Give Me More Time (2025), made the most of his time with Something hits my chest, Cover up the sun, Malvasia and Black Sand, among others. 

The best live stream in Scotland

The Scots Faeda were also making their debut in the Canary Islands. The indie rock band consisting of Robbie McNicol (vocals and guitar), Sam Cowan (drums), Cole Cummings (bass), and Jamie Mackay (guitar) came with the label of being the best live Scottish band and delivered a solid concert centered around the singles that have brought them fame. They started with Too Wild to Last, Too Rare to Die, and in the 40 minutes they had, they did All Thorn No Horses, Look me in the Eye, South Paw o Play with my ego.

Saturday's final segment had a lot to offer and showcased the variety and eclecticism of styles that the Tenerife Phe Festival embraces in every edition. Up next, Natalia Doco, Good Franco, Carlos Ares, VVV [Trippin You] and the aforementioned Getdown Services.

The Argentine singer based in Paris, Natalia Doco, has developed a sound that unites continents and generations, with a fusion of Argentine folk traditions, indigenous spirituality, and urban rhythms. He performed between Faeda and Good Franco, giving another color to the concert sequence. He came to Puerto de La Cruz with that unique cocktail wrapped in cumbia, reggaeton, salsa, and chachacha, and with the repertoire of his latest and fourth album Axe (2026). He moved the audience however he wanted to the rhythm of the new songs Cha Cha Trap, Juira, Bicha, Que vuela, Gatitude, Animal and Axe, as well as other passages from previous works, such as The good Gualicho or Breathe, of the disc La Sagrada (2017), among others. 

TO Good Franco, winners of Sonora 2026 alongside Los Blody, and deserving of the Sonora Passport bound for Phe Festival, they were given an unbeatable time slot to present their credentials. And they faced an attentive audience that appreciated it. The musicians from Gran Canaria delivered their concert with craftsmanship and songs Like Every second, Fresh morning, If you leave, Before dawn, Like Arody, Moon for Mars (in collaboration with Belize) and Cowards.

With the La Coruña accent Carlos Ares, the Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 crossed midnight. And it did what was expected: winning over the audience with its catchy pop-style melodies from the very first chords with the songs from the two albums it has released: Pilgrim (2024) y The Lion's Den (2025). Much like what happened with Barry B, Ares watched as the audience took ownership of the songs he was performing. He opened with Páramo, from her latest album, followed with Dewdrops And on the third track it dropped The lion's den, with which the audience got hyped up. They would be followed by Bald tongues, Indigenous, With a single finger, Borrowed matter, Important, Speed, Dog days and Pilgrim. A perfect night for the musician and the audience.

VVV [Trippin’ You], Madrid trio mixing post-punk, synthwave and dark electronics, a prominent project of the new Spanish underground fronted by Adrian Bremner, was the last performance on the Deichmann stage before Getdown Services got the entire festival audience dancing. And without forgetting the stage Phe Club, which took off with Sun Dance Family Session and had in the studio Emma Play & Mr. Paradise, Bobby Bob, El Chico & Jessy La Ley, Yung Prado and The Struggle. Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), who was forced to cancel his set for family reasons, was not there. 

 

British band Getdown Services wrap up the live performance lineup of the eleventh edition in a long-haul night across stages featuring concerts by Carlos Ares, Natalia Doco, Good Franco, and VVV [Trippin’ You]

 

The concerts by Ona Mafalda, Pequeña Alaska, Choclock, and Faeda headlined this Saturday the start of the second day of the eleventh edition of the Tenerife Phe Festival 2026. It was a long-haul night, alternating between the three stages occupying the festival's usual venue in Puerto de la Cruz—Heineken and Deichmann, and the third one, Ron Guajiro Phe Club, dedicated to electronic music and club culture. Following the Scottish band Faeda, who performed in the Canary Islands for the first time courtesy of Phe Festival and The Spanish Wave, a live music marathon lay ahead featuring Argentine singer Natalia Doco, Gran Canaria band Good Franco—who arrived at Phe Festival with the Pasaporte Sonora 2026—Galician artist Carlos Ares, Madrid-based act VVV [Trippin You], and British group Getdown Services, who closed the night and the festival in their first-ever concert in the Canary Islands.

The second day of the Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 began, just like on Friday, on the Phe Club stage with Sun Dance Family Session for a family audience. In the booth and until closing, they passed through this space Emma Play & Mr. Paradise, Bobby Bob, El Chico & Jessy La Ley, Yung Prado and La Brega. 

With Ona Mafalda, the second day of the Tenerife Phe Festival got underway. The artist with UK and Bulgarian roots, who moves between pop and rock, accompanied by drummer Alex Moreno, got the audience in the mood with tracks from her album Reset (2025) with topics such as Jump or Sedated, in addition to their latest single Anthem, the particular version of I am no longer that woman, by Mari Trini, and premiered exclusively for the Tenerife audience at Phe Festival 2026 a collaboration with La Bien Querida that is being released next week under the title of I want.

Another artist from Tenerife, Choclock, the alias of Sergio Bruno Miguel Delgado, changed the tone and rhythm of the festival in the early hours of Saturday. He is one of the most versatile artists on the music scene, who has stood out for his ability to fuse genres and create melodies that connect with the audience, and he proved it on the main stage. A Spanish R&B figure with works like Bruno (2019) y Magua with Honey (2022), I'm Colorblind, But I Feel Blue (2024–25), or Give Me More Time (2025). At the Tenerife Phe Festival, they performed pieces such as Algo me golpea el pecho, Que tapen el sol, Malvasía, and Arena Negra, among others. 

After Choclock came the Canary Islands premiere of the Scots Faeda. An indie rock band featuring Robbie McNicol (vocals and guitar), Sam Cowan (drums), Cole Cummings (bass), and Jamie Mackay (guitar), which has released a handful of singles such as All thorns, no horses. Look me in the eye. or Too Wild to Last, Too Rare to Die, with which they have earned a reputation as the best live Scottish band. 

Phe Team assumes the executive production of this Tenerife Phe Festival, an event promoted by the Culture Department of the City Council of Puerto de la Cruz, with sponsorship from the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canary Institute of Cultural Development, Canary Islands Tourism, Tourism of Tenerife, and the Cabildo of Tenerife; as well as other private sponsors such as the CajaCanarias Foundation, Heineken, Deichmann, Pepsi, Ron Guajiro, Torres Canarias, Mas Que Motos Tenerife, and Skoda.

The Madrid band, the Brighton duo, and the percussionist from Gran Canaria star in the soundtrack for the official launch of the festival's eleventh edition in Puerto de la Cruz.

 

The eleventh edition of the Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 began this Friday in Puerto de la Cruz with an eclectic soundtrack featuring the Madrid band Rufus T. Firefly, the British duo Arxx, and the Gran Canaria formations Xerach and Belice as protagonists. A long-haul day across three stages—Heineken, Deichmann, and a third dedicated to dance music, Ron Guajiro Phe Club—which, until 3:00 a.m., presented concerts with artists who imprint the character of this eleventh edition, the most complete due to the diversity of styles and proposals, and also the most international with artists like New Yorkers Bodega, the British acts Fat Dog and Ibibio Sound Machine—both Friday headliners—and national projects that are trending in their genre such as Barry B and EZEZEZ.

Xerach, in a trio format accompanied by Magali Datzira on guitars and Adriana Puentes on keyboards, opened the round of concerts before an audience that would gradually fill the port venue as evening fell. The Gran Canaria-born artist used the space to present her latest repertoire with pieces such as What I am going to lie, If I am Chavela, you are Frida, What a name, what a face, how rare or You love me, I adore you.

Then came Arxx to show that two people are more than enough to make catchy songs that invite you to party. A fun and fast-paced show offered by singer and guitarist Hanni Pidduck and drummer Clara Townsend, who were thrilled to play in new places and made their love for Tenerife very clear. They raised the tone of Phe Festival with songs like Crying in the carwash, Trouble, Like Hell, Good Boy or Ride or Die with which they closed their performance. After Arxx, it was time to enter the pop and psychedelic universe of Rufus T. Firefly. The Madrid-based band led by Víctor Cabezuelo and Julia Martín-Maestro returned to Phe Festival following their appearance in 2021 and won the crowd over with a brilliant repertoire featuring passages such as Jade Nebula, Blue Thunder, I know where the ducks go when the lake freezes, Blue Thunder, Song of Peace or The beginning of everything.

This first series of concerts would be followed by Gran Canaria's Belice. Locally-sourced indie rock seams, finalists of the Sonora 2026 contest just like Xerach, who performed songs from their recent harvest such as Perfect manifest, Moon for Mars, I promise not to leave you alone or Let the world dance.

In addition to the live band stages, the programming of the electronic stage, Ron Guajiro Phe Club, set the pace from the opening with the Sun Dance Family session proposal for a family audience with Dita Konnat and Claudia Bliss, accompanied by movement artists Koset Quintana and Yaiza Martinon, and the sessions by Jjust Beca & Candela, Isla Sonido, Mostany, Roman Flügel, and Phil Hartnoll (Orbital) dj set.

The Phe Club stage, dedicated to electronic music and club culture, is incorporating a wide representation of the island scene this year. 

Music made in the Canary Islands, featuring projects and artists with established names on both the island and national circuits, will be present at the eleventh edition of the Tenerife Phe Festival, which will take place on September 4th and 5th in the Tenerife municipality of Puerto de la Cruz. The eleventh edition of the Puerto festival, the most comprehensive and international in its recent history with British artists such as Fat Dog, Getdown Services, Ibibio Sound Machine, New Yorkers Bodega, the Argentine singer Natalia Doco, or the nationals Carlos Ares and Rufus T. Firefly, opens its three stages to Canarian creation with the presence of projects from Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote, of different styles and formats that reflect the diversity and musical richness of the island scene. 

Thus, the Tenerife artists will be performing on the two stages dedicated to live music this year at the Tenerife Phe Festival, Heineken and Deichmann. Choclock and Little Alaska, the singer and percussionist Xerach and Belice, both from Gran Canaria, and Good Franco, with one foot in Lanzarote and the other in Gran Canaria. Good Franco arrives at Phe Festival after winning the Sonora Passport in the 2026 edition of the contest, which they won alongside Los Blody, in a final with ten finalists that also featured two other groups present at Phe Festival: Xerach and Belice

The insular representation in the poster in these two scenarios is completed with VVV [Trippin’ You], the Madrid trio mixing post-punk, synthwave, and dark electronics, featuring Elinor Almenara, born in Caracas and raised in La Palma, on keyboards, guitars, and backing vocals.

Furthermore, the electronic music programming that presides over the Ron Guajiro Phe Club stage features a large representation of the Archipelago's dance scene, covering a wide range of styles centered around club culture. Particularly noteworthy in this regard is the presence in the Phe Club DJ booth of projects such as Isla Sonido, Just Beca & Candela, Mostany, El Chico & Jesse La Ley, Bobby Bob and The Struggle, the showcasclosing offers they will make Bliss & San Am in a B2B format.

It’s worth noting that the two days of the Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 will kick off at 5:00 p.m. with the Sun Dance Family Session, designed for families. These events—which blend electronic music, dance, and wellness—will move to the main venue this year, featuring two DJs from the Canary Islands such as Dita Konnat and Claudia Bliss, accompanied by the artists of the movement Koset Quintana and Yaiza Martinon to guide group sessions with the public. 

Choclock, R&B figure

Choclock, the stage name of Tenerife native Sergio Bruno Miguel Delgado, is one of the Canary Islands’ highlights in this eleventh edition, as he is one of the most versatile artists on the music scene, known for his ability to fuse genres and create melodies that resonate with audiences, both as a producer and as a singer. Since his beginnings with the BNMP (Broke Niños Make Pesos) collective, Choclock has worked toward becoming a leading figure in Spanish-language R&B.

Following the success the Tenerife native achieved with his albums Bruno (2019) y Magua with Honey (2022), Choclock has explored new sounds and emotions as he did in I'm Colorblind, But I Feel Blue (2024/25), a fusion of contemporary R&B and electronic beats in which he finds solace in love and nostalgia.

his last job Give Me More Time (2025) emphasizes the path toward introspection and artistic growth with a more intimate and experimental sound that allows him to reinvent himself without losing his essence. An emotive, energetic, and hopeful sonic universe that blends immersive synthesizers, distorted basses, and acoustic guitars with rap-inspired drums and ambient-like textures, featuring influences ranging from Frank Ocean or Bon Iver to Kanye West, Fred Again, or 070 Shake, among others. The EP features a collaboration with Plastikboy (Mexico) and is accompanied by producers such as Lex Luthorz, El Secreto, Abhir, Blurred, Mayo, and Govea La Firma.

Local indie 

Little Alaska is an independent pop-rock band from Puerto de la Cruz, made up of four musicians with prior experience in the Canary Islands’ alternative music scene in projects such as Aforo Limitado, Navy Blue Socks, Maracaná, and Whitman. Javier Goiricelaya on vocals and guitar; Jorge Martin on guitar and keyboards; Saúl Pestana on bass; and Cristian Fernández on drums will perform at the Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 with songs from their debut album. Universal Theory, released in 2026 on digital platforms, an album that draws inspiration from contemporary Spanish indie music and combines melodic guitars, the energy of a live performance, and an emotional approach to songwriting. 

These bands are also active in the indie scene Belice and Good Franco, each with a distinct profile and sound. Belice is an indie pop and alternative rock band from Gran Canaria formed in 2020, consisting of Domingo Suárez (vocals and guitar), Aitor Déniz (drums), Alejandro Velázquez (bass), Saul Gidkly (keyboards and backing vocals), Álvaro Ramírez (guitar and backing vocals), and Vicente Ballester (guitar and keyboards). Their first release, the album All the flowers (2024) positioned Belize on the Canarian and national scene and achieved nominations at the Canarian Music Awards in the categories of best album and breakthrough artist, and at the 40 Canarias Clickers Awards for best song for "Luna para Marte." The presentation tour took them to festivals across the Canary Islands, and they debuted on the mainland at Sonorama Ribera.

For its part, Good Franco is the latest sensation in Canarian «space indie.» Launched in 2021 in Famara, Lanzarote, by Fran de Armas, the project features Leo Segovia (guitar), Juan Pérez (drums), Ale Herón (bass), Carlos Artiles (keyboards), and Fran de Armas. Their first five-track EP, *Good Franco* (2024), fuses indie, funk, electronic, and rock with touches of Canarian and Latin American heritage, creating immersive atmospheres and catchy riffs. Last year, in 2025, the group released several singles, such as Before Dawn, Moon to Mars (in collaboration with Belize), Spectacular Death and Magdalena.

Xerach This is the project of Gran Canaria-based drummer, composer, and producer Xerach Peñate, who has taken her solo career in a new direction with the album *Canciones bobas* (2025). Thirteen pop songs that blend with techno basslines and tambora rhythms. This marks a shift in musical style for the Gran Canaria native, who made her debut with a jazz suite Tizziri (2017), and that last July he released the single Where Does Love Go When It Is Not Given?, preview of Do you love me? I adore you, from her upcoming second studio album. According to the artist herself, “an album that cuts through generational loneliness, transforming it into euphoria. An album where music, dance, and stage come together in an attempt to understand a society overwhelmed by love that doesn't know how to stay.”.

Co-leader of the band Arube, which she shares with Lajalada and Alba Gil Aceytuno, Xerach collaborates on the tours and concerts of Christina Rosenvinge, Ale Acosta, Roba Estesa, and La Mare, has produced artists such as Rosenvinge, Nena Daconte, Roba Estesa, and Tremenda Jauría, is a songwriter for third parties at Warner Chappell, and has worked on theater plays and circus shows, as well as composing for dance pieces and performances.

Finally, the lineup of island artists on the stages of Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 is completed by VVV [Trippin’ You], the Madrid trio made up of Adrián Bremner, Salvador Urbaneja, and Elinor Almenara, who is of Venezuelan descent and grew up on the island of La Palma. A radical electronic trio that emerged from the town of Móstoles to pay homage to noise and the coldness of concrete with a fast, furious, and melodic sound through which genres like jungle, dubstep, UK garage, and makina flow. The group has become one of the most prominent names in the new Spanish guitar and synthesizer underground. Released albums such as Scale (2020), Turboviolence (2021) or emptier (2023) has led them to play at some of the most relevant festivals of the genre in our country such as SONAR, BBK, or MIRA Festival, as well as on different stages in the United States, Mexico, or Colombia. Their latest album is Mecharadio (2025), where electronics move between the cinematic and the sensory.

The opening day of the Tenerife Phe Festival 2026 on Friday, September 4, will feature performances by: Fat Dog, Ibibio Sound Machine, Barry B, Rufus T. Firefly, Arxx, EZEZEZ, Xerach, and Belice, on the two main stages  Heineken and Deichmann; and Phil Hartnoll (Orbital) DJ set, Roman Flügel, Isla Sonido, Mostany, and Just Beca and Candela, on the Ron Guajiro Phe Club stage.

The third stage of Tenerife Phe Festival 2026, Ron Guajiro Phe Club, embraces dance music with legendary electronic pulse artists and club culture benchmarks like Phill Harnott (Orbital), Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), and Roman Flügel in a lineup completed by Yung Prado, La Brega, Mostany, Isla Sonido, Just Beca & Candela, Bobby Bob, El Chico & Jessy La Ley, and Enma Play & Mr. Paradise

The eleventh edition of Tenerife Phe Festival, which takes place on the upcoming 4th and 5th of September in the Tenerife municipality of Puerto de la Cruz, is once again committing to electronic music and club culture with the stage Ron Guajiro Phe Club. An open-door club with continuous programming from the venue's opening to closing, which complements and enriches the musical offering that will take place during the two days on the other two stages, Heineken and Deichmann, featuring around 18 international, national, and Canary Islands artists on September 4 and 5 in the most complete edition of the Puerto festival. 

There will be two days at Phe Club with plenty of dancing this year, featuring artists, DJs, and producers from various electronic cultures that Tenerife Phe Festival has brought together in Puerto de la Cruz for its eleventh edition. An electronic lineup combining historic names, contemporary artists, and new talents, fronted by artists who are benchmarks of club culture, such as Phil Hartnoll (Orbital), Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Roman Flügel or The Prado, among others. 

To these names, which by virtue of their career are called upon to lead the two nights of infinite dancing at Phe Club in this edition, is added an eclectic and complete line up of Canarian artists who will likewise leave their mark on the festival: Just Beca y Candela, Isla Sonido, Mostany, Emma Play & Mr. Paradise, Bobby Bob, El Chico & Jessy La Ley and The Struggle.

The two days of the festival will begin at 17:00 with the proposal of Sun Dance Family session for a family audience. Electronic music, dance and wellness gatherings that in this edition move to the main venue with two DJs as Dita Konnat and Claudia Bliss, accompanied by the artists of the movement Koset Quintana and Yaiza Martinon to guide the group sessions

Next, the Ron Guajiro Phe Club program begins on Friday, September 4th with Just Beca & Candela. Ahead and until closing, Isla Sonido, Mostany, Roman Flügel, and Phil Hartnoll (Orbital) dj set. On the second day, Saturday the 5th, Emma Play & Mr. Paradise open this third stage, the first stop on a Saturday of dancing where Bobby Bob, El Chico & Jessy La Ley, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) dj set, Yung Prado, and La Brega will be at the controls of the ship. 

The inaugural soundtrack is provided by Just Beca & Candela with a fresh and energetic directness. Here Beca’s lyrical voice, which likewise moves through jazz and other styles, merges with the sound sequence that Candela prints, driven by funk, disco house, afro, and latin house. More dance steps with Sound Island who takes over the booth with a proposal that champions underground club culture rooted in the territory and island identity. Followed by Mostany in this Friday sequence at Phe Club. A benchmark resident artist in the Canary Islands scene, who has spent years diving into the 90s underground with an eclectic pulse that moves seamlessly between progressive, acid, italo, and electro, among other stylistic variants. 

 

Flügel and Hartnoll

Following Mostany's session, the Phe Club ship takes off toward other dance galaxies led by the German DJ and producer Roman Flügel. As a DJ rooted in the broad tradition of house and techno, his sets vary depending on the venue, the audience, and the moment. In 1993, alongside his production partner Jörn Wuttke (with whom he worked on projects such as Alter Ego, Holy Garage, and others), he founded the labels Ongaku, Klang Elektronik, and Playhouse, a now legendary label that released landmark records by Isolée, Ricardo Villalobos, and LoSoul—a record label that set a new cultural milestone for European house and techno. As a producer, Flügel has used numerous pseudonyms and multiplied his collaborations with renowned artists and labels from the electronic scene. In addition, he is a prolific remixer with work for artists such as Daniel Avery, Tuff City Kids, DJ Tennis, Sven Väth, DJ Hell, and C.A.R., among others. Since 2016, he has organized his own party series, Sister Midnight.

The closing of the first day at Phe Club is for Phil Hartnoll, founding member of Orbital alongside his brother Paul. It is their return to the festival following the live set that Orbital performed in 2023. The British duo, with more than 15 albums released since their acclaimed debut Orbital (1991), the also called Green Album, has marked several generations with a repertoire that has contributed to placing electronics at the center of popular culture with pieces that are classics like chime, Satan, Belfast, Impact, Halcyon, Are We Here?, or Remind,

At Phe Club, Phil Hartnoll will deliver a set spanning over three decades of dance music history, combining techno, house, breaks, rarities, and some of the classics that have defined his career, while keeping an eye on the latest sounds.

 

House, hip hop and classics

The second day of Phe Club opens with Emma Play & Mr. Paradise with a set that invites you to break in the dance floor; Bobby Bob, a DJ and producer closely tied to hip hop culture and urban music, who has proven his level at the festival; and El Chico & Jessy La Ley, the DJ duo whose sets are pure spectacle and include everything to move the dance floor at will.

If there is a Saturday night figure at Phe Club, it is Alexis Taylor. The vocalist and co-founder of the British indietronica band Hot Chip will move the dance floor at will on Saturday the 5th. Surely, dance floor-built tracks like the classic will not be missing from his set Ready for the Floor, along with a handful of hits from his own personal soundtrack. Taylor has been one of the key figures in the renewal of electro-pop and dance music over the last two decades, and has developed a solid career both solo and as a DJ, crafting sets where disco, house, electro-pop, techno, soul, boogie, dub, and reggae naturally coexist. His ability to connect genres and generations has made him one of the most versatile and influential names on the international electronic music scene.

Following Alexis Taylor's session, it is the turn of Young Prado, DJ and producer based in Barcelona, member of the duo La Élite and the Mainline collective. His songs, which feature carefree, rowdy electronic music that doesn't sacrifice popular appeal, convey precisely that: fun and genuine energy, without cynicism and without losing personality. In OWL, in his latest work, the artist pours out more than 20 tracks that are anything but uniform or monotonous. Here, the traits of Ralphi Rosario's Puerto Rican house, the atmosphere of a Twilo (New York) that smelled of Strictly Rhythm 12-inches, or the influence of Electroclash (Tiga, Felix Da Housecat, Vitalic) can be perceived with crystal clarity.

The closing session of Phe Club 2026 features The Struggle. A luxury closing with showcase what will they offer Bliss & San Am in a B2B format. Two DJs and producers with a career spanning over a decade, setting the rhythm and sharing the same vision of music.

The ninth edition opens this Friday, August 7, at its new venue in the Eduardo Westerdahl Museum of Contemporary Art – MACEW (Casa de la Aduana) in Puerto de la Cruz.

“What happens in the Canary Islands is part of a global conversation about ways of living on the planet,” says project curator Beatriz Roca

The Tenerife Phe Festival, whose eleventh edition will be held on September 4 and 5 in the Tenerife municipality of Puerto de la Cruz, inaugurates this Friday, August 7, its parallel activities program, the PheXperiences, with the launch of Phe Gallery, a platform for supporting and giving visibility to emerging art in the Canary Islands. The initiative maintains its commitment to artistic projects that engage with contemporary challenges and treat the artistic act as a tool for reflection, research, and social activation. In this ninth edition, Phe Gallery is changing its location and premiering a new venue at the Eduardo Westerdahl Museum of Contemporary Art – MACEW (Casa de la Aduana) in Puerto de la Cruz, with the launch this Friday the 7th, at 7:00 p.m., of the group exhibition Ways of living featuring work by the 27 artists selected in this call from among more than a hundred proposals received. The exhibition will be open to the public until September 5. 

In collaboration with the CajaCanarias Foundation and the Culture Department of Puerto de la Cruz, Phe Gallery 2026 proposes a reflection on the relationship between the natural environment and contemporary ways of life, material research, and practices that reflect on how we inhabit, transform, and care for the environments we share. 

There are 27 artists selected in this call curated by Beatriz Roca together with a curatorial team formed by agents from the art world, coming from different fields: M. Lohrum, a Canarian artist specialized in performative drawing; Carlota Neris, a cultural manager, musicologist, and consultant with a career focused on the management of artistic and cultural projects; and Adrián Trujillo, an architect from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid, who explores the relationships between space, community, and landscape through collaborative processes and social impact projects.

The artists exhibiting their work in Phe Gallery 2026 in the group exhibition Ways of living son: Kernel, Ohiane de Felipe García, Magali Brincat, Marina Sunyer, Irene Suárez, Clara Montesdeoca, Sublime.86, Andrea Moreno González, Laura Santana, Albadortart, Amaia Senante, Uri Reis, Ale Arbizu, Gabriel Gil González, Aitana Spruyt and Paula Alayón De la Rosa, Elena Casanova, Jose Saucedo, Marina Valls, German Paez, Nacho Torres Toledo, Rubén Guedes, Lara García, Cristina García, Denso, Paula Calavera and Juin.

“This year we have moved into the realm of architecture, urban planning, that moment of inhabiting, and not only from the physical standpoint but from the body or the mind, a much broader concept,” explains curator Beatriz Roca. “Every form of inhabiting leaves a trace. Not only on the territory, but also on those who share it. The materials we use, the way we build our cities, the way we move, produce, consume, or care for the environment speak of a certain way of being in the world,” Beatriz Roca points out in the text accompanying the catalog under the title of Inhabit the threshold.

According to the curator, “we live in a time when this relationship is subject to profound tensions,” and in the case of the Canary Islands, “these issues acquire a particular intensity. The island condition makes visible something that perhaps remains hidden in other places: the territory is finite. Every transformation leaves a mark. Every decision modifies a delicate balance between nature, landscape, economy, and community. But it would be a mistake to understand these circumstances solely as a local problem. What happens in the Canary Islands is part of a global conversation about the ways of inhabiting the planet.”.

In this ninth edition of Phe Gallery, all formats and interpretations of the concept of dwelling converge. According to Roca, in the exhibition “there are moments for critique, of personal experiences, biographical, bodily and architectural themes, solutions, history, research regarding the different ways of dwelling we have had throughout the centuries; each artist has their own formula for interpreting the concept of dwelling.” Overall, it is a catalog of male and female creators with diverse perspectives among whom “there are new and familiar faces as well, and artists who are returning because what is valued is the proposal,” the curator points out. 

The inauguration of Phe Gallery this Friday at the Eduardo Westerdahl Contemporary Art Museum – MACEW (Casa de la Aduana) will feature the presence of the artists and a painting performance in the museum space itself, led by Juin and Paula Calavera, who will create a work in situ, in addition to a DJ set by Andrés Morales. “It will take place in the museum's inner courtyard, giving greater importance to the exhibition and the space where we are opening,” Beatriz Roca emphasizes. In her view, “the temporary sculptural installation located in the square turns the access to MACEW into a space of shared creation, making the times of artistic labor visible and shifting part of the exhibition experience to the public space. The museum is no longer understood solely as a place for contemplation, but becomes a space for encounter, transit, and conversation.”.

The relocation of Phe Gallery gives a new dimension to the project. A more central museum space connected to the festival and its surroundings right in the fishing dock of Puerto de la Cruz, which makes it the fourth stage of Phe Club. “With the change, Phe Gallery is at the core where everything happens, in the nerve center of all the action of Phe Festival, and I think it is very important to strengthen the project. From the venue itself you can see the festival, and we have gone from a plural and multipurpose center like the Castillo de San Felipe to a museum center with everything that entails,” emphasizes curator Beatriz Roca.

 

Guided tours and Gallery Talks‘

Two guided tours of Phe Gallery 2026 with the curator have been scheduled: the first on Friday the 7th after the opening, and another on Saturday, September 5, during the second day of Phe Festival and the closing of the exhibition. In addition, a meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 2. Gallery Talks, “with relevant or curious artists and projects” and a performance.

The eleventh edition of Tenerife Phe Festival, which will be held on September 4th and 5th in the Tenerife municipality of Puerto de la Cruz, is presented as the most complete in the festival's recent history, bringing together a lineup of international, national, and Canary Islands artists, the vast majority of whom defy traditional styles. With this, the Puerto festival strengthens its commitment to a diverse, open festival model with a strong multicultural vocation. This is a decisive commitment by the organization of Tenerife Phe Festival, featuring a two-stage format with live music, where 18 artists will perform, moving between pop and rock contaminated with electronic and psychedelic influences, funk, indie, punk, techno, and folk and singer-songwriter music. In addition to the stage Phe Club, the temple of dance music that this year will feature top figures from the international electronic scene.

 

A step forward that positions Phe Festival as a clear benchmark in the circuit of festivals held in the Canary Islands with international projection, as the report shows The best of Culture 2025 by the Fundación Contemporánea, based on the assessments of nearly 1,000 professionals in the cultural sector from across Spain, which has once again placed Phe Festival among the top-ranked cultural events and experiences on the islands. In this edition, the festival has regained second place in the regional ranking. 

 

All of this comes in a year in which Phe Festival has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and has once again been certified by A Greener Future (AGF), the prestigious British auditing firm specializing in sustainability for festivals and cultural events worldwide, following a comprehensive evaluation of the 2025 edition. This certification cements the festival’s status as a leader in sustainability within the Canary Islands’ cultural landscape, reinforcing a track record marked by environmental, social, and community commitment.

 

At this year’s Tenerife Phe Festival, in light of the humanitarian emergency caused by the recent earthquake that has struck Venezuela, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be used to fund the humanitarian aid needed by the Venezuelan people. Accordingly, the festival will make an initial contribution of 2,000 euros and will directly allocate 5% of the revenue generated from ticket sales since the onset of the disaster in Venezuela. Tenerife Phe Festival presented its 11th edition this afternoon at a press conference held at the Skyview Hotel by LIVVO in Puerto de la Cruz, where the 2026 music lineup was unveiled, as well as a wide-ranging schedule of activities related to live music, contemporary culture, emerging art, sustainability, urban experiences, and the promotion of tourism in the Tenerife municipality. The press conference was attended by the mayor of Puerto de la Cruz, LEopoldo Afonso; the Councilwoman for Culture and Tourism of Puerto de la Cruz, Desiree Torres; the Director General of Cultural Innovation and Creative Industries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Cristóbal de la Rosa; the Director of Culture for the Tenerife Island Council, José Carlos Acha Domínguez; the CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, , Dimple Melwani; the director of Institutional Relations at the Canary Islands Tourism Board, Javier Prieto; the co-director of Tenerife Phe Festival, Carlos Ulises Salazar; and the curator of Phe Gallery, beatrice rock. The festival's opening ceremony concluded with a performance by Just_Beca, one of the Canarian artists participating in this year's edition. 

 

The mayor of Puerto de la Cruz, Leopoldo Afonso, noted during the presentation that “The Tenerife Phe Festival has established itself as one of the most recognizable cultural events in our municipality and as a project that brings together music, youth, creativity, sustainability, and international exposure.” Afonso emphasized that “Puerto de la Cruz is once again demonstrating its ability to host top-tier cultural events capable of attracting local, island-wide, national, and international audiences.” In this context, the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Desiré Díaz, . He pointed out that “Phe Festival fully aligns with the cultural and tourism model we want to continue promoting from Puerto de la Cruz.” Díaz also emphasized that “the parallel programming allows the festival to dialogue with public spaces, emerging artists, sustainability, urban sports, and new ways of experiencing the city.”.

 

The Director General of Cultural Innovation and Creative Industries of the Government of the Canary Islands, Cristóbal de la Rosa, expressed his gratitude to the festival on behalf of the regional government: “A festival that, over the past eleven years, has maintained a vision of what a festival should be, along with its environmental and artistic commitment. Congratulations to the management and the team for a festival that continues to grow like this,” he said in his remarks. 

 

The Island Councilor for Culture, Museums, and Sports of the Tenerife Island Council, José Carlos Acha, stated that «Phe Festival has established itself as one of the major cultural benchmarks in the Canary Islands, a space that combines music, contemporary art, and emerging creation with a clear international focus.» In this regard, he emphasized that «the quality and diversity of the lineup for this eleventh edition once again places Tenerife on the circuit of the most interesting festivals on the national and international scene, also generating a significant cultural, social, and economic impact for Puerto de la Cruz and the entire island.».

 

Likewise, during the presentation of Tenerife Phe Festival 2026, the festival's impact and its environmental commitment were highlighted. According to Dimple Melwani, CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, “From Tourism of Tenerife, we support the growth this festival has experienced, and we highlight three points: its contribution to the local economy, its social value, demonstrated through actions such as its support for Venezuela, and the A Greener Future seal, through which it emphasizes its commitment to sustainability and the environment.”

 

On the other hand, the Director of Institutional Relations of Tourism of the Canary Islands, Javier Prieto, stated that “the Phe Festival is an example of how culture can advance hand in hand with environmental and social sustainability, with initiatives like Phe Circular, a project that promotes awareness, and with collaboration with entities such as AFES Salud Mental and Sinpromi.” Prieto also highlighted “the involvement of citizens through the Phe Resistance Group, which connects the festival with the cultural and commercial fabric of the municipality,” as well as last year's economic impact, which was 1.5 million euros.

 

The lineup for the 2026 Tenerife Phe Festival is headlined by two bands that have become a phenomenon and are soaring in popularity: the British bands Fat Dog and Getdown Services, both of whom are performing in the Canary Islands for the first time, as the organizers highlighted during the festival’s presentation. “It’s a commitment that sets us apart from other festivals in the Canary Islands and nationwide,” he emphasized Carlos Ulises Salazar, co-director of the Tenerife Phe Festival, regarding the participation of these two artists. Salazar made special mention of the concert to be performed by Fat Dog, “a band that, in time, we’ll see headlining many festivals, and will be one of those groups that people will remember seeing in Puerto de la Cruz,” just as has happened with established artists who performed at the Puerto de la Cruz festival early in their careers. The organizers emphasized the inclusion of Canarian acts on the lineup and the opportunity to share the stage with international artists. Among them is Choclock, “one of the artists with the greatest potential,” according to the festival’s co-director, and others “who are coming through collaborations with projects from other islands or from Tenerife, such as the Sonora band contest held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.”. 

 

Alongside these two projects with such overwhelming direct impact as Fat Dog and Getdown Services, at Phe Festival will be fellow Britons Ibibio Sound Machine with singer Eno Williams at the helm, Arxx, Faeda and She Mafalda, The New York band Bodega, makes its debut on the islands in Puerto de la Cruz, as well as the Argentine singer Natalia Doco. This coming September, national artists of the caliber of Carlos Ares, Rufus T. Firefly and Barry B; Madrid residents VVV [Trippin’ You] with a kind of radical electronic music, the Bilbao natives EZEZEZ, a cocktail of rock, grunge, and funk, arriving at Phe Festival in collaboration with The Spanish Wave alongside the Scottish band Faeda; and a roster of Canarian projects of various formats and styles such as Good Franco, Xerach, Belize, Choclock and Little Alaska, this last musical project from Puerto de la Cruz.

In this edition, Phe Club offers an electronic lineup that combines legendary names, contemporary artists, and new talents. The line up The Phe Club also features names such as Just Beca and Candela, Isla Sonido, Mostany, Emma Play & Mr. Paradise, Bobby Bob, El Chico & Jessy La Ley and The Struggle.

 

Phil Hartnoll, founding member of Orbitwill be in the Phe Club booth on Friday, September 4th. The British duo marked several generations with a repertoire that helped place electronic music at the center of popular culture. At Phe Club, they will offer a set that spans over three decades of dance music history, combining techno, house, breaks, rarities, and some of the classics that have defined their career, without losing sight of the most current sounds.

 

The Phe Club also hosts the German DJ and producer on Friday Roman Flügel. As a DJ rooted in the rich tradition of house and techno, your sets vary depending on the venue, audience, and time. In 1993, together with production partner Jörn Wuttke (with whom you collaborated on projects like Alter Ego, Holy Garage, and others), you founded the labels Ongaku, Klang Elektronik, and Playhouse. Playhouse, a now legendary label, released seminal records by Isolée, Ricardo Villalobos, and LoSoul. It was a record label that marked a new cultural milestone for European house and techno. 

 

For its part, Alexis Taylor, vocalist and co-founder of Hot Chip, will set the dance floor ablaze on Saturday the 5th. He has been one of the key figures in the electro-pop and dance music revival of the last two decades, and has developed a solid solo career and as a DJ, crafting sets where disco, house, electro-pop, techno, soul, and boogie coexist seamlessly. His ability to connect genres and generations has made him one of the most versatile and influential names in the international electronic scene.

 

Also highlight the presence of Young Prado, DJ producer based in Barcelona, member of the duo La Élite and the Mainline collective. His songs, laid-back electronic music, mischievous and not shying away from popular appeal, convey fun and real energy, without cynicism and without losing personality. In OWL, In his latest work, the artist delivers more than 20 tracks that are anything but uniform or monotonous. 

International showcase

 

Together, Tenerife Phe Festival offers a mosaic of musical proposals in 2026 that move between the popular, fusion, and technological, urban sounds, indie rock, post-punk, psychedelia, and pop, in an edition that recovers the essence of live music on two stages.

 

Fat Dog and Getdown Services they are two of the bands that make a difference, and headliners of Tenerife Phe Festival in 2026. Fat Dog is an English band formed in 2020 in southeast London by Joe Love, Chris Hughes, Morgan Wallace, and Johnny Doghead Hutch is one of the headliners of, thus reaffirming its vocation as an international showcase with musical proposals that challenge traditional styles. In this case, Fat Dog promises a massive show in Puerto de la Cruz on the first weekend of September. The incendiary debut single King of the Slugs, in August 2023, a punk-techno hybrid put Fat Dog on the map. Their debut album Woof (Domino/Music As Usual, 2024) showcases the eclecticism of this band whose music pivots between Viagra Boys, Underworld, and The Fall, to name a few references. 

 

For its part Getdown Services, the duo from Bristol formed by Josh Law and Ben Sadler, is another of the acts that are sure to leave their mark on the eleventh edition of Phe Festival. Their debut album, Chips (2023) turned Getdown Services into one of the most prominent acts on the scene, with danceable rhythms and structures close to disco-rock that bring the audience to the dance floor, and lyrics filled with humor and social criticism.

 

The British delegation in Puerto de la Cruz also features prominent protagonists such as Ibibio Sound Machine. An energetic live show that invites dancing, with a subtle blend of afrofunk, African elements, and electronics from the golden age of West African funk and disco, post-punk, and electro. Led by Nigerian singer Eno Williams, the band has released five albums since 2014, and their latest studio work is Pull the Rope (2024).

 

From New York comes another of the international attractions of the eleventh edition. It is Bodega, a conceptual band that transcends the concept of rock and roll. Led by Ben Hozie and Nikki Belfiglio, the New York outfit was formed in 2014, initially associated with post-punk. This label is a misnomer for a musical concept that dives into all subgenres of rock, and with each album takes a step in the search for its own sound. Their second album, Broken Equipment (2022) and the recent Our Brand Could Be Your Life (2024) have established Bodega as one of the most interesting groups on the international alternative scene in recent years.

For its part, Arxx is a queer power pop duo from Brighton, consisting of singer and guitarist Hanni Pidduck and drummer Clara Townsend. “Imagine Taylor Swift if she’d only ever listened to Nirvana,” the band explains on its Bandcamp page by way of introduction. In 2024, they released the single Crying in the Carwash which gave them a certain popularity, leading them to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at the Glastonbury Festival. In their discography, the EPs Daughters of Daughters (2018) and Wrong Girl, Honey (2019); and the albums Ride or Die (2023) and Good Boy (2024). 

 

Faeda is an indie rock band with slightly older members, from the Scottish town of Thurso, comprising Robbie McNicol (vocals and guitar), Sam Cowan (drums), Cole Cummings (bass), and Jamie Mackay (guitar), who have released a handful of singles with which they have earned a reputation as the Scottish band with the best live performance. The Scots, authors of All Thorn No Roses, Look Me in the Eye, Too Wild to Last, Too Rare to DieAnd now, the Phe Festival is coming to Tenerife, brought to you by The Spanish Wave alongside the band from Bilbao EZEZEZ.

 

EZEZEZ is a band from Bilbao consisting of Unai Madariaga (vocals, guitar), Mikel Irigoyen (bass), Eneko Ajangiz (guitar), and Álvaro Olaetxea (drums). Since their formation in 2021, they’ve burst onto the scene with a bang, shaking the foundations of Spain’s independent music scene with a sound that brims with quality, originality, and tons of attitude. Following in the footsteps of bands like Idles and Viagra Boys, EZEZEZ prove to be versatile, surprising, and restless, taking pop foundations and molding them with the grit of punk, the individuality of grunge, and the energy of rock. To this, they add elements of funk, hints of reggae, Eukaldun culture, poetry, humor, performance, social commentary, and experimentation, resulting in a truly unique project.

 

Its third studio album, Hello, it is the most daring and accomplished album of his career to date, and it cements his upward trajectory, which was firmly established by his previous album, *Katuzaldía*, and the more than 90 concerts he performed to promote it.

 

Another high-voltage proposal is VVV [Trippin’ You], A Madrid trio that mixes post-punk, synthwave, and dark electronic music with a distinctive aesthetic rooted in urban and nocturnal imagery. The group has become one of the most prominent names in Spain's new underground guitar and synthesizer scene. The band, led by Adrián Bremner, has established itself as a fierce creature on the national stage, with works such as Scale (2020), Turboviolence (2021) or Emptyingr (2023) has led them to play at some of the most relevant festivals in the genre in our country, such as SONAR, BBK, or MIRA Festival.

 

Folk and urban rhythms

 

Folk, urban rhythms, and other sonic textures meet at Tenerife Phe Festival. An example of this is Natalia Doco, an Argentine artist who has lived in Paris since 2012, where she has developed a sound that bridges continents and generations through a fusion of Argentine folk traditions, Indigenous spirituality, and urban rhythms; and She Mafalda, with roots in the United Kingdom and Bulgaria, presents a musical style reminiscent of Florence and the Machine, The Strokes, Blondie, and Patti Smith, combining the electric energy of alternative rock with the sensibility of contemporary pop to create a bilingual, borderless sound.

 

Along with these two artists, the musician and producer from A Coruña will be at Tenerife Phe Festival Carlos Ares, the band from Madrid Rufus T. Firefly, and the new revelation called Barry B.

 

Carlos Ares He was one of the breakout stars of last year in the Spanish music press with the release of his debut album Pilgrim (2024), and whose second album The Lion's Den (2025) has solidified the success of a project and an artist whose work was recognized this year at the 2026 MIN Awards with the awards for Album of the Year, Best Live Performance, and Best Pop Album.

 

On the other hand, Barry B, the musical project of Gabriel Barriuso García. The artist from Aranda de Duero, Burgos, began experimenting in 2019 with fresh sounds alongside Rusowsky and Ralphie Choo, eventually finding his way into rock and establishing the personality that today defines his sound and style. In 2024, he released his debut album Chato (Universal) And in September 2025, he released the EP "Infancia mal calibrada," which gives its name to the tour that’s bringing him to Tenerife for the Phe Festival.

 

Rufus T. Firefly The Madrid-based band led by Víctor Cabezuelo and Julia Martín-Maestro is returning to the Phe Festival following their 2021 performance. Active since 2006, the band returned to the studio and the stage in 2025 with the album *Todas las cosas buenas*, which they’ll showcase at Phe Festival alongside the hits from their repertoire.

 

The Island Scene

 

The current music scene in the Canary Islands is diversely represented at Phe Festival 2026. Among those already confirmed like Choclock, the stage name of Sergio Bruno Miguel Delgado—one of the most versatile artists on the music scene, who has stood out for his ability to blend genres and create melodies that resonate with audiences, both as a producer and as a singer—is joined by Just Becca, a Tenerife native participating in Phe Festival through awards from the CajaCanarias Foundation, three other bands: Belize, Good Franco and Xerach. 

 

Xerach is the battery project, by Canarian composer and producer Xerach Peñate, who redirects her solo career with the album Silly songs (2025). Thirteen pop songs fused with techno basslines and tambora rhythms. A shift in musical style for the Gran Canaria native, who made her debut with a jazz suite Tizziri (2017). Co-leader of the band Arube, alongside Lajalada and Alba Gil Aceytuno; he collaborates on tours and concerts with Christina Rosenvinge, Ale Acosta, Roba Estesa, and La Mare; he has produced artists such as Rosenvinge, Nena Daconte, Roba Estesa, and Tremenda Jauría.

 

Good Franco, winners of Sonora 2026 alongside Los Blody, and recipients of the Sonora Passport to the Phe Festival, are the latest sensation in Canarian «space indie.» A project launched in 2021 in Famara, Lanzarote, by Fran de Armas, featuring Leo Segovia (guitar), Juan Pérez (drums), Ale Herón (bass), Carlos Artiles (keyboards), and Fran de Armas. Their first five-track EP, *Good Franco* (2024), fuses indie, funk, electronic, and rock with touches of Canarian and Latin American heritage, creating immersive atmospheres and catchy riffs. Last year, in 2025, the group released several singles, such as Before Dawn, Moon to Mars (in collaboration with Belize), Spectacular Death and Magdalene.

 

Belice, a Gran Canarian indie pop and alternative rock band formed in 2020, comprising Domingo Suárez (vocals and guitar), Aitor Déniz (drums), Alejandro Velázquez (bass), Saul Gidkly (keyboards and backing vocals), Álvaro Ramírez (guitar and backing vocals), and Vicente Ballester (guitar and keyboards). Their first release, the album All the flowers (2024) positioned Belize on the Canarian and national scene and achieved nominations at the Canarian Music Awards in the categories of best album and breakthrough artist, and at the 40 Canarias Clickers Awards for best song for "Luna para Marte." The presentation tour took them to festivals across the Canary Islands, and they debuted on the mainland at Sonorama Ribera.

 

PheXperiences and Phe Gallery Inauguration

 

As in previous editions, Tenerife Phe Festival offers a wide and varied program of activities for all audiences during the festival week. They are the PheXperiences, which includes the exhibition project Phe Gallery for young artists; Phe Wine, a meeting focused on wine culture; water sports like BMX Water Jump, which celebrates its 6th edition on Friday the 4th at the Puerto de la Cruz Dock; and the already traditional and massive gathering Phe Yoga, scheduled for Saturday the 5th in the morning.

 

Among the new features of this edition, Phe Gallery moves location and the ninth edition of this group exhibition moves toThe Westerdahl Museum MACEW (Customs House), right on the fishing pier of Puerto de la Cruz. More central and more connected to the festival. and its surroundings.

 

27 artists have been selected for this call for artists curated by Beatriz Roca along with a curatorial team made up of agents from the art world, coming from different fields. It is aimed at emerging creators who explore the relationship between the natural environment, matter, and contemporary ways of life, paying attention to the processes, resources, and implications of artistic production.

Both will perform on September 4th and 5th, 2026, on a stage designed for dancing, discovering new talent, and enjoying top-notch DJ sets and live performances.
