In 2024, Phe Festival has been recognized as one of the most sustainable festivals in Spain by obtaining the certification A Greener Future (AGF). This achievement is a tribute to our 10 years of commitment to the environment and our beloved home, Puerto de la Cruz.

Certification is not just a stamp: we analyze our carbon footprint, review every detail (from energy to waste), and work to make each edition more responsible towards the planet. The goal? That enjoying together is not only incredible, but also sustainable!.

Since its creation, Phe Festival It has committed to integrating social and environmental responsibility at the heart of its cultural offering, fostering citizen participation, critical thinking, and diversity as central elements of its identity.

Through your organization, Phe Festival develop initiatives with a positive impact on the environment, collaborating with organizations such as AFES MENTAL HEALTH and promoting social responsibility actions such as those developed by this Foundation.

In this context, Phe Festival becomes a meeting place between culture, sustainability, and transformation social thanks to the seal of #CultureThatCares.

What we do at the festival

At Phe Festival, we understand that sustainability is not limited to the environmental sphere, but also implies a firm commitment to people and our immediate social environment. Therefore, we work hand-in-hand with various local associations and entities that enrich the project with their experience and help us build a more inclusive, supportive, and transformative event.

AFES MENTAL HEALTH: entity with extensive experience and a key role in our inclusion strategy. Thanks to their training and ongoing support, our team acquires practical tools to build a more diverse, accessible cultural space that is respectful of the mental health of all participants in the event. This year, AFES has also recognized our commitment by awarding us the “Culture that Cares” quality seal. Their presence at the festival will also be visible with an information booth, where they will share resources and awareness campaigns. .

TENERIFE ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL STUDENTS (AEMTE): Through its SCORSA section, which specializes in sexual health and HIV prevention, its presence at the festival is materialized through an information booth, where awareness-raising activities are carried out, including the free distribution of condoms and educational materials on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

SINPROMI A public company of the Cabildo de Tenerife dedicated to promoting the labor inclusion of people with disabilities, we integrate our team into different areas of the festival. This alliance allows us to guarantee equal opportunities and reaffirms our commitment to a more just, inclusive, and accessible society.

ADEPAC ANIMAL SHELTER: A non-profit organization that for over three decades has been rescuing, caring for, and rehoming abandoned dogs and cats in Tenerife. With over 300 animals under its daily care, ADEPAC carries out essential animal protection and social awareness work in Ravelo.

What you can do

At the festival exit, you'll find a collection point for reusable cups. Instead of taking it home or returning it for its deposit, you can donate it and turn it into a charitable act: for every cup returned, €1 will be directly donated to ADEPAC, supporting their animal rescue and care programs. Furthermore, we invite you to visit the stalls of our partners and learn more about the initiatives that make a more inclusive, safe, and sustainable festival possible.

What we do at the festival

We want coming to the festival to be easy, comfortable, and sustainable. That's why we have an agreement with TITSA to promote public transportation, especially on the lines connecting the entire island with Puerto de la Cruz. We collaborate with the City Council to expand parking spaces located just a short walk from the venue. We provide you with a fenced parking area for bicycles and scooters, thus promoting more sustainable mobility. Additionally, we offer vacation packages with nearby accommodation so you can walk directly to the venue. Aware of the importance of reducing our carbon footprint, we coordinate the travel of artists, staff, and suppliers to minimize trips and optimize vehicle occupancy. Likewise, we prioritize local suppliers and opt for food stalls offering zero-kilometer products.

What you can do

Move sustainably by using public transportation. Various bus lines connect the event with key points on the island, providing convenient and responsible access. For information on routes and schedules, consult HERE.

Among the main lines are:

From Santa Cruz (capital):

Lines 100, 102, and 103: direct connection from Santa Cruz to Puerto de la Cruz (express highway service), ideal for quick transfers.

From the North:

Line 354: route from Icod de Los Vinos to Puerto de la Cruz, passing through several northern municipalities.
Line 363: route from Buenavista del Norte to Puerto de la Cruz, passing through several municipalities in the north.

From the South:

Line 325: connection from the south of the island to Puerto de la Cruz.

From the airports:

Line 343: direct connection between Puerto de la Cruz, North and South Airport.

From nearby municipalities:

Lines 345, 348, 351, 352, 353, 383, and 390: connect Puerto de la Cruz with La Orotava and nearby municipalities.

Choose to walk whenever you can or stay close to the festival. With these small gestures, we reduce pollution and make the experience cleaner, more comfortable, and respectful of the environment.

What we do at the festival

We are working to make our festival more and more sustainable.
This year the event will be completely free of single-use plastics:

  • Reusable and returnable cups will be available.
  • Each bar will have water fountains that replace plastic bottles.
  • All food stall tableware will be sustainable.
  • We collaborate with vendors and markets to avoid unnecessary packaging and disposable products.

Additionally, we are reinforcing our recycling plan:

  • We will install clearly marked bins for packaging (yellow), paper and cardboard (blue), and residual waste (gray).
  • We have agreements with specialized companies that guarantee responsible waste management.
  • In smoking areas, you'll find ashtrays for proper cigarette butt disposal.

What you can do

Your help is key

  • Bring your own reusable cup or use the festival's returnable ones.
  • At the end of the event, if you don't want to take it with you, return it at one of our bars or donate the euro for your cup to our social causes.
  • Deposit each waste item in the corresponding bin.
  • Smoke only in designated areas.

What we do at the festival

Taking care of water is a priority.

We guarantee access to free drinking water for attendees and staff, promoting responsible consumption and eliminating single-use plastic bottles.

We implement conservation systems at all water points in the facility and in cleaning processes. We also ensure proper management of wastewater to protect marine biodiversity.

At the close of the event, we calculated part of our water footprint by considering the kilograms of food consumed (especially meat), the liters of water sold to the public, and the liters used in the venue's various operational tasks.

Ask for free water at any of our bars and consume it responsibly: use only what you need and avoid waste. With small.

What we do at the festival

At Phe Festival, we are committed to combating climate change by calculating and reducing our carbon footprint.
In the past edition, we measured our greenhouse gas emissions for the first time, and based on those results, we have implemented measures to keep them under control and reduce them whenever possible.

  • Prioritize local suppliers and materials to reduce unnecessary transport.
  • Reuse infrastructure and mounting elements instead of acquiring new ones.
  • Implement an efficient waste management plan, fostering a circular economy.

Our goal is for each edition to move towards a festival model with a lower climate impact.

What you can do

Your participation is essential to reduce the festival's footprint:

  • Choose sustainable transportation: use public transport, bike, or carpool to reduce emissions.
  • Consume mindfully: support local vendors and use the reusable cups and containers available at the festival.
  • Reduce your personal impact: dispose of waste in the appropriate bin and avoid wasting water.

What we do at the festival

At Phe Festival, we are committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda Canaria 2030. Among them is SDG 15: Life on Land. Our priority is to protect the biodiversity and care for the natural and marine environment that surrounds us. To achieve this, we implement concrete measures:

  • We conducted a preliminary study of sensitive areas to ensure their protection during the event.
  • We reduce noise and light pollution through specific plans and technical assessments before each edition.
  • This year, we are organizing seabed cleanups in Puerto de la Cruz as part of the project Phe Circular
  • We adequately control and manage all discharges and waste, in coordination with the City Council and our authorized service providers.

What you can do

Your collaboration is essential for caring for our environment:

  • Respect the andmarine and terrestrial ecosystems surrounding the festival.
  • Do not throw waste into the sea or onto the ground: always use recycling bins.
  • Make sure to properly dispose of your waste so it can't blow away in the wind and end up on the coast or in the ocean.

With your help, we made Phe Festival a space that also protects the nature that hosts us.

What we do at the festival

At Phe Festival we work to be an inclusive and accessible event for all audiences.

Therefore, the venue has reserved areas for people with reduced mobility, with ramp access, adapted restrooms, and staff specifically trained to offer support when needed.

In addition

The andAdmission is free for children 12 and under, and young people ages 12 to 30 can enjoy a 25 % discount with the European Youth Card.

The venue will feature a dedicated area for children, with three telescopes managed by a representative from the Teide Observatory, creating a small educational space within the festival.

Help ensure the festival runs safely and comfortably by using the adapted zones and the venue in general responsibly.

What we do at the festival

Phe Festival is committed to decisively advancing towards the decarbonization of the event in this edition. To achieve this, we will exclusively use state-of-the-art Stage V generator sets, powered entirely by HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), a renewable biofuel that significantly reduces net CO₂ emissions. Furthermore, a portion of the electrical consumption will be covered by connecting to the public grid, thereby reducing the need for ephemeral equipment and allowing us to take advantage of a supply increasingly based on renewable energy.

What we do at the festival

We prioritize responsible and sustainable purchasing, avoiding unnecessary acquisitions through rentals and material reuse. We favor local suppliers, thereby reducing transportation emissions, and select products designed with ecological criteria and long lifespans. This year, furthermore, our event will be 100% Plastic-Free, reaffirming our commitment to waste reduction. In the same vein, the merchandising products have been consciously designed, using eco-friendly, resistant, and durable materials

Likewise, we maintain a constant effort of awareness and collaboration with our suppliers, encouraging them to integrate more environmentally friendly practices into their purchasing and supply processes.
