Freedom is often confused with the absence of rules to obey. Vera Fauna seems to have interpreted this concept as the act of generating one's own rules, being aware that these come from somewhere. The Sevillian band defends a sound that negotiates one by one the genres in which they are intended to fit (lo-fi, psychedelia, neo flamenco...) to mutate in the form that suits them best for the story they want to tell.
The best years (2023), their wonderful second album with songs as catchy as 'Careers House', either 'Tuesday' With Kiko Veneno, has the rare virtue of combining pop psychedelia, flamenco airs and effluvia of blues or reggae, with astonishing naturalness. A delicate flower that can be pricked, and that will certainly open in all its splendor when they take the stage of PHE Festival 2024.
