Phe Festival recovers in Puerto de la Cruz the best sounds of independent music, bringing together top-level national and local artists and bands on August 21 and 22 at the El Peñón Municipal Stadium. Attendees will be able to enjoy, in what will be its fifth edition, a complete entertainment experience whose main argument is live, in a venue adapted to health prevention and safety measures.

The details of the event were announced today, during a visit to the venue that was attended by the Mayor of Puerto de la Cruz, Marco González, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Heritage of the Government of the Canary Islands, Juan Márquez, the Island Minister of Development Sustainable and Fight against Climate Change, Javier Rodríguez Medina, the general director of Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands, Laura Fuentes Vega, the island director of Roads Tomás García, the Councilor for Tourism and Institutional Relations Carolina Rodríguez and the directors of Phe Festival, Ulises Salazar and Iván Torres Hall.

In its most complex year, the festival adapts its structure and organization to the new normal, with a reduced format and all the necessary safety and hygiene measures for both the public and artists as well as for the workers involved in its production and assembly. Phe is a project integrated into the strategy adopted by the Culture area of Puerto de la Cruz, directed by Marco González, to promote the cultural fabric and enable citizens and visitors to access a safe culture with the programming of quality shows , adapted to all the necessary protocols for the enjoyment of the activities with the maximum guarantees of protection, as established by the regulations within the current context.

concert days

True to its commitment to offer a set of proposals to enjoy a perfect vacation plan in the Canary Islands, Ph 2020 It focuses on two days of concerts that have an outstanding lineup, in which hardly any changes have been made since the first confirmations were announced in February. On Friday the 21st there will be performances by leading bands on the national scene such as Carminha News, Cupid and The Levitants, prominent Canarian artists such as Lajalada, who will join The Groove Brothers and Mamaqucha as a continuity solution. On each concert day, the doors of the venue will open at 6:30 p.m. to facilitate staggered entry and avoid crowds, and the direct concerts will begin at 8:00 p.m. The public must remain seated in the previously assigned seats, with a mandatory mask and keeping a safe distance.

Ph 2020 wants to maintain the spirit of the summer festival that characterizes it, with the values and commitments acquired since the first edition with the public and with Puerto de la Cruz, as well as with the music industry, sponsors and collaborators. Thus, in addition to integrating live music from diverse artists and genres, it has a venue that includes an outdoor terrace to complete the festival experience.

With lemon and salt, El Saucito, Kiko Ratón, Le Monde and Sueño de Monica make up the culinary selection of Phe Food in 2020. commitments

One more year, the local fellow, hotel and restaurant establishments in the region collaborate with the festival, a true reflection of the collaborative model of cultural management and citizen participation that characterizes Puerto de la Cruz.

Phe Festival continues to bet on sustainability, and in this edition the challenge of achieving a balance between the environmental, the social and the economic goes through the circular economy, as well as individual and collective responsibility. For this, as in previous editions, it has the collaboration of Ecoembes, Ecovidrio and the area of Community Welfare, Educational Action and Healthy Practices of the Porto City Council. As a fundamental part of the Phe experience, the festival recommends the use of public transport as an alternative to mobility for attendees who come to enjoy the scheduled activities, also with the support of TITSA.

One of the novelties this year in Phe Festival is the incorporation of mandatory use of cashless wristbands that not only makes spending more comfortable for the attending public, but also contributes to reducing the environmental impact of the festival thanks to technology. This system also allows strict control of capacity and prevents the circulation of cash, an important detail to reduce the risk of possible coronavirus infections.
