Two days of concerts on the 24th and 25th, and a preview on Thursday the 23rd at the Cultural Space Castle with numerous activities are the focus of the festival program
Phe Festival will meet 18 national and international artists in the two days of concerts held on August 24 and 25 on the esplanade of the Puerto de la Cruz pier. In addition, the festival expands its offer to enjoy the event with Phe Creative, a day on creativity and innovation open to the public in a summer key with prominent participants.
The concerts of this third edition of Phe Festival begin on Friday August 24 with groups such as The Killer Swing and notable references such as Carlos Sadness, Nathy Peluso, pedrina, pumuky, Floridablanca and Kid Simius. On Saturday the 25th it will be the turn of Dorian. The Well Beloved, Dog, We Are Not Dj's, texcocco, mint, Coyote Girl Eta Tornado Boy, minifefas and We Are Trash. Tickets are already on sale on the website www.phefestival.com itself, on the platform www.tickety.es and at different official points of sale in Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
Starting Thursday, the box office will also open at the festival site, located in Plaza Manuel Ángel Acosta, next to the dock esplanade. The opening hours will be from 10:00 to 20:00 on Thursday, and from 10:00 on Friday and Saturday.
This year Phe expands the entertainment offer with more fashion, trends, gastronomy, and sport with a skate and BMX track, elements that coexist to complete the festival experience. Food trucks and restaurant stalls such as Raíces, Limón y sal, Con Foodamento, Ukelele, Argentine popular sandwiches, Marisquería, Chipsy and The Dog is Hot will offer their tasting menu for the public attending Ph 2018, which will also have a Winery and Cocktail Bar. In the trends section there will be a pop up store from the Emprendemoda collective, Levi's, Grimey, Kish, Dicky Morgan, Quíquere, Island BmxVinyl Factory and a special Makeup & Hair Korner in addition to the Ph Shop.
The enclosure It is accessible and has a suitable platform for people with reduced mobility as well as rest areas, especially designed for families.
Phe Creative will liven up the day on Thursday, August 23 at the Castle Cultural Space with an extensive program to enjoy and reflect in a playful and relaxed way. Thus, the Virtual Reality and Family Djing workshops are a unique opportunity for the little ones to discover the entertainment technologies. Entrepreneurs will also have a space in the afternoon at Phe Kuchas to present their projects in the form of pitches to the attending public.
The cultural avant-garde will be the protagonist of the afternoon with Phe Talks, a series of videoconferences on creativity and innovation preset by Gerardo Cardboard. This writer and music producer will talk live with Nadia Leal, journalist and music critic for the publication NEO2, on the transformation of digital communication and with Roger Planas, one of the directors of the Lateral Thinking agency, to talk about marketing in the creation of unique experiences. Completing the session, a close talk with Joan Vic, artistic director of the FIB Festival Internacional de Benicassim, a benchmark festival in Spain, where they will reflect on the success of their model over the years.
That same Thursday night, music spreads through the streets of Porto with Phe Arounds, an initiative that seeks to involve the city in the activity of the festival while promoting the atmosphere of the city. In this way, several reference venues will offer special programming during the Festival. Starting at 12:00 a.m. Pub Limbo will host the electronic proposal of P-Split djs, while in Play Music Bar you can enjoy Bobby Bob, a selection of soul, funky and hip hop classics. On Saturday 25, starting at 1:00 p.m., La Compostelana Plaza receives Lucía Rodríguez and Carolina Abreu in an acoustic concert in the Plaza del Charco.
The canary art emerging is also the protagonist in this third edition of the Festival with Phe Gallery, a collective exhibition of 18 Canarian artists. Painting, sculpture, photography, illustration, drawing and much more in an exhibition that reinforces the commitment to local creativity. The exhibition will be open to the public at the Cultural Space Castle from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The sustainability is a fundamental part of the Phe 2018 experience, which is why Ecoembes and its 'Guardians of Recycling' visit the Festival this year. Dressed as original superheroes, they encourage a responsible awareness of the environment also outside the home, in leisure spaces. Tenerife + Sustainable will hold workshops on recycling and mobility during the mornings of the 23rd, 24th and 25th and the Department of Services of the Porto City Council will also have an information point on the selective collection of waste and other programs that it has been developing.
Integrated into the 2020 Cultural Strategy promoted by the Puerto de la Cruz Culture area, Phe Festival continues its commitment to turning the city into a benchmark for large-format live music, providing freshness, reflection and sustainability criteria, to consolidate a brand, a style and a seductive image oriented abroad without losing the commitment with the public here.
