The collective exhibition kicks off the cultural activities that are part of the Phe Festival 2018 program
A celebration open to the public, with music and art, will kick off the third edition of Phe Festival tomorrow, Friday, August 3, at 8:00 p.m., with the inauguration of Phe Gallery in the Cultural Space Castle. 18 emerging artists from the Canary Islands will show their creations in this collective exhibition curated by Alex Leto and The C Project.
Phe Gallery is the first activity of the cultural programming of Phe Creative, integrated within the framework of the festival, which is proposed as a relaxed approach to creativity, innovation and culture from a current approach. A program that will continue during the week of the festival with other educational and informative activities. It opens with a collective exhibition made up of artists committed to the project, who will provide added value to this proposal through their works, where the urban and social will be the protagonists and which have been developed in different artistic techniques, such as painting, sculpture , graffiti, installations, photography or illustration.
The group show can be visited until September 5 and has works by Iker Muro, Saúl Ramos, Daniel González, Elvira Piedra Vera, Jenifer Doann, Rima Čiplytė, Nebras Turdidae, Rubén Añón, Diego Izquierdo, Roberto Rodríguez, Federico García Trujillo, Rafael Expósito, Daniel de La Guardia, Lucia Pitters , Oscar Latuag, Iván Alonso, The Lighthouse Traveler and Francesco Visone. Phe Gallery can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday night will continue outside the Cultural Space Castle with a music session that will make all the attendees dance, starting with the playlist of the artists and bands of Phe 2018. Set with a cocktail, the meeting will offer the opportunity to establish links, exchange opinions and share experiences in a playful and creative environment.
With this exhibition it is intended, in an ephemeral and direct way, to focus an artistic focus on Puerto de la Cruz, to reflect and put the viewer in front of a mirror where contemporaneity makes its way in front of the classic, thus giving space and modes of expression to other existing realities. This exhibition, coordinated by Alex Leto, expands and develops the collaboration already initiated in the previous edition between Phe Festival and The C Project, an occasion in which it had a smaller artistic representation and was installed in the festival grounds.
Phe 2018 once again shows its involvement with the local creative community and open-mindedness, developing a proposal that increases the experience of its enjoyment and involvement with its public, with culture as an accelerator of the sustainable development of the Tourist City.
The festival continues betting on innovative cultural proposals as a preview of the days of concerts, to be held on August 24 and 25 in the venue installed on the esplanade of the Puerto de la Cruz wharf with a poster of artists in which important national and international references stand out, such as Dorian, The Killer Swing, Nathy Peluso, Carlos Sadness, The Well Beloved or pedrina. Phe Festival is organized and directed by Phenomenal Studio and Imoa Productions, it is sponsored by the Puerto de la Cruz City Council, the Government of the Canary Islands, Tenerife Tourism and the Urban Development Consortium for the rehabilitation of Puerto de la Cruz, and with the collaboration of other organizations, entities and companies, such as Heineken, Levi's or Ecoembes.
