The Tenerife festival returns to Puerto de la Cruz on August 23 and 24 with an eclectic line-up that has the Granada band Lori Meyers as the attraction for the first day, which also welcomes the Galician urban pop phenomenon, Sen Senra, a Sole\u00e1 Morente and Joe Crep\u00fasculo, among others.<\/b><\/h2>\n

The ninth edition of<\/span> PHE Festival, <\/b>which will be celebrated on August 23 and 24 in the Tenerife municipality of Puerto de la Cruz,<\/span> It is a unique proposal in the scene of music festivals held in the Canary Islands. With an eclectic lineup of artists in terms of styles and musical proposals, which is one of the hallmarks of the festival, PHE 2024 embraces national indie, emerging pop, urban sounds that are changing the rhythm on the street and in life, and dance music with an international seal. There will be two days of concerts with more than 20 hours of live music in a capital edition of <\/span>Phe Festival<\/b> which this year has managed to bring together in Puerto de la Cruz top-level international references such as New Yorkers<\/span> !!! (Chk Chk Chk)<\/b> and the danes<\/span> Trentem\u00f8ller<\/b>, in addition to a generous catalog of national artists among veterans of national indie, such as those from Granada <\/span>Lori Meyers<\/b>, who will do their first concert in Tenerife; the reunion with<\/span> Leon Benavente<\/b>, which repeats in<\/span> Phe Festival <\/b>after his performance in the 2017 edition<\/span>; <\/b>or the Galician phenomenon of urban pop, <\/span>Sen Senra, <\/b>which debuts live in the Canary Islands from the hand of <\/span>Phe Festival<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

PHE Festival <\/b>celebrates its ninth edition, consolidating its commitment to music and current trends on the islands, a work for which it has been recognized as one of the best cultural events in the Canary Islands in the ranking prepared each year by the Foundation's Culture Observatory Contemporary.<\/span><\/p>\n

A sound menu for all ears and audiences that turns Puerto de la Cruz into an exclusive meeting point with artists who are unquestionable references in their style and who have set and are setting trends. A total of 18 musical proposals on a poster that complete <\/span>Sole\u00e1 Morente, Joe Crep\u00fasculo, La Paloma, Repion, Pipiolas, Shego, Camellos, Vera Fauna, Mavica <\/b>and <\/span>Nala Rami<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

A FRIDAY WITH LORI MEYERS<\/h3>\n

The first day of <\/span>PHE Festival 2024<\/b> On Friday, August 24, the main dishes will be the people of Granada <\/span>Lori Meyers<\/b> and the Galician<\/span> Sen Senra<\/b>, in a sequence of concerts that from mid-afternoon presents the performances of <\/span>Solea Morente, Joe Crep\u00fasculo, La Paloma, Repion, Pipiolas, Jela<\/b> and <\/span>Enrique Ive<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the presence of <\/span>Lori Meyers<\/b>, in his first concert in Tenerife, <\/span>PHE Festival<\/b> settle accounts with his story. And there is no song by the people of Granada that is not an anthem, explosive songs that promise to make us fly. Lori Meyers has one of the best repertoires in Spanish music with major pieces such as <\/span>Getting drunk, My reality, Time will pass, The sun always shines, High fidelity<\/span><\/i> or <\/span>Neon lights<\/span><\/i>, among other. Active since 1998, their last and seventh album <\/span>Infinite spaces (<\/span><\/i>2021) acknowledges receipt of the past and projects itself into the future with stoicism, although without lowering its arms or giving up its weapons.<\/span><\/p>\n

Friday's closing is in the hands of Lori Meyers. Before it will be <\/span>Sen Senra,<\/b> the alias of the Galician Christian Senra, a versatile musician with whom international artists such as C. Tangana, Julieta Venegas, Feid and Tainy have already collaborated. In 2019 he published the album <\/span>Sensations<\/span><\/i>, which would be a turning point in his career. The Galician artist has refined his own sound, marking ground. And proof of this is his most recent work <\/span>PO2054AZ: <\/span><\/i>a license plate of an old Peugeot 205 from Pontevedra that invites you to share an emotional journey where the urban allows itself to be loved by other musical cultures.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The voice of <\/span>Solea Morente<\/b> is one of the great protagonists of the first day of <\/span>PHE Festive<\/b>l 2024. The flamenco root of the Morente saga presides over his every movement, whether towards pop or alternative rock, between projects of different natures on which he has worked. His will be the stage before Sen Senra and just after the Barcelonan <\/span>twilight joe<\/b> of good account of his <\/span>dance verbena<\/span><\/i>, the tour that has put him on the road and brings him to Puerto de la Cruz.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The direct ones of <\/span>La Paloma, Repion<\/b>, <\/span>Pipiolas<\/b> and <\/span>Jela<\/b> will mark the first hours of the ninth of the<\/span> Phe Festival<\/b> in a day that will open<\/span> Enrique Ive<\/b>, Canarian-British singer and composer who fuses pop with touches of jazz, bossa nova and elements of soundtracks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is followed by the verb of the Tenerife singer <\/span>Jela,<\/b> an artist who raises her sights beyond rap and who released her first album last year <\/span>Temple. <\/span><\/i>After Jela arrives<\/span> the turn of <\/span>Pipiolas<\/b>, <\/span><\/i>the duo of Adriana and Paula, another phenomenon that the Phe Festival is keeping an eye on and that with <\/span>a musical language of its own, mature, fresh and fun is asking for passage with a first album <\/span>There is no god<\/span><\/i> and countless stellar collaborations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahead, the grunge pop practiced by the Cantabrian duo <\/span>Repion<\/b> and which sisters Marina and Teresa have been feeding for more than a decade. Words greater than guitar and drums, vitality, rage, post-adolescent frustration and a touch of melancholy to warm the temperature of the<\/span> PHE Festival<\/b>; and one of the national bands that has been going strong due to attitude and repertoire with noise rock as an alibi, the people from Madrid<\/span> Dove<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

DANCE SATURDAY<\/h3>\n

The second day of Phe Festival, on Saturday, August 24, leads to the dance floor with the presence of the New York band\u00a0 <\/span>!!! (Chk Chk Chk)<\/b> and the Danish group <\/span>Trentem\u00f8ller. <\/b>Two dance sequences of a different nature whose live performances will be the closing of what is expected to be another night and another dream festival in Puerto de la Cruz.<\/span><\/p>\n

Music will have this day <\/span>Nala Rami<\/b>, the project of Gran Canaria saxophonist Alan Himar, a slave to the funk of yesterday and today, who reaches <\/span>Phe Festival<\/b> with the <\/span>Sonora Passport<\/span><\/i> which was awarded by the emerging bands contest <\/span>Sonora Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2024,<\/b> in addition to achieving first prize in the contest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From here, a carousel of emotions and styles, with <\/span>Mavic<\/b>, an artist and producer from Murcia living in London, whose pop melancholy supported by electronic production translates into millions of views on streaming platforms; <\/span>Vera Fauna<\/b>, a generous dose of pop psychedelia and neo flamenco from Seville, where blues or Jamaican rhythms or whatever best suits the band also appears, as can be seen on the album <\/span>The best years<\/span><\/i> (2023), the second reference that includes songs like <\/span>Career House<\/span><\/i><\/a> or <\/span>Tuesday, in <\/span><\/i>collaboration with Kiko Veneno; and <\/span>camels,<\/b> Madrid band with a punk attitude with three published works, <\/span>Stylebook<\/span><\/i> (2022) is their latest album, and a party repertoire to sing in Puerto de la Cruz as the occasion deserves.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second part of Saturday's day in <\/span>PHE Festival<\/b> leads to the dance floor. You will surely remember it <\/span>Nick Offer<\/b>, the vocalist of the Americans <\/span>!!! (Chk Chk Chk)<\/b>, which close the night, with one of their incendiary headline songs, <\/span>Dancing is the best revenge<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Dancing is the best revenge<\/span><\/i>).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But before Nic Offer and his people make the legend good, there is more to see, hear and dance in Puerto de la Cruz. After Pimp Flaco's set, it's the turn of<\/span> shego<\/b>, a Madrid rock band made up of Maite, Raquel and Charlotte. MIN Award for Best Emerging Artist 2023 and a released album <\/span>Good luck girl<\/span><\/i> (2023), Shego is another of the pearls on the Saturday day of the Phe Festival with hymns full of lights and shadows that lead us through love, grief, rage, and internal conflicts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The final stretch of <\/span>Phe Festival<\/b> program three concerts destined to make history: <\/span>Leon Benavente<\/b>, <\/span>Trentem\u00f8ller<\/b> and those mentioned <\/span>!!! (Chk Chk Chk). <\/b>\u00a0It is the second time that Le\u00f3n Benavente has visited Puerto de la Cruz. We are facing the essential bands of national indie rock that were born in 2012 with some of the most renowned musicians on the scene such as Abraham Boba, Eduardo Baos, Luis Rodr\u00edguez and C\u00e9sar Verd\u00fa. With four albums released, the notable self-titled debut,<\/span> 2, Let's go crazy<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>WAS<\/span><\/i>, and a live performance that will not be forgotten, Le\u00f3n Benavente arrives in Tenerife after completing the tenth anniversary tour throughout the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From Copenhagen the Dane lands in Puerto de la Cruz <\/span>Anders Trentem\u00f8ller<\/b> in band format. Although he began his career as a solo electronic artist, in styles such as techno, progressive house, ambient and chill out, in addition to working on productions and remixes for R\u00f6yksopp, The Knife, Mikael Simpson or Henrik Vibskov, among others, his work has experienced changes in style, always with the electronic substrate as the protagonist, in the band format. In what is his first concert in Tenerife and the Canary Islands, Anders Trentem\u00f8ller will be accompanied, subject to changes, by <\/span>Diisa Jakobs<\/b> (vocals, guitars, synthesizers), <\/span>Silas Tinglef<\/b> (drums, guitars), <\/span>Brian Batz <\/b>(guitars) and <\/span>Jacob Haubjerg<\/b> (low),\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The closure is for\u00a0 <\/span>!!! (Chk Chk Chk). <\/b>The dance punk whirlwind arrives from New York to make Phe and his audience dance with an impeccable career that took off in 1996 in Sacramento (California), with a repertoire of hits and es's still fresh ninth album <\/span>Let it be blue<\/span><\/i> (2022). At least, you have to dance them live, once in your life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PHE Festival<\/b> It is due to live music and is its main strength as has been confirmed in all the editions held to date.
